Compensation depends on experience level. Industry standards range from $23 to $27/hr for experienced sprinkler techs.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties include will be start-ups & winterization of residential sprinkler systems, repairs as necessary (finding and repairing leaks, replacing sprinkler heads, minor upgrades to systems), helping customers with programming of their controllers, and adjusting sprinkler heads for efficiency.
You should have good deductive reasoning skills and be capable of problem solving on the fly (mechanical reasoning). This position requires the ability to perform manual labor.
Skills required: MUST be able to sweat copper. General understanding of fittings (Copper, PVC, Brass, Poly, etc) general understanding of irrigation system electrical components and circuits. Understanding and ability to operate/program a variety of irrigation controllers. Ability to identify visual cues to underground leaks, overwatering/underwatering, coverage issues. Ability to troubleshoot nozzle coverage and resize nozzles.
This position will best fit someone who is truly experienced in travelling to various locations to diagnose performance issues with irrigation systems throughout the day. You will work with ALL brands of irrigation components. You will perform 5-15 service calls per day. This position will LEAST fit someone who has worked on sprinkler systems as a 'groundskeeper', remaining on one general site working with the same general components throughout the season.
You should be willing to work overtime as required to service our customers. Note that weekends may be required during peak season demand. You MUST have a driver's license and be cleared by our insurance to drive a company vehicle. If you have a Restricted License, DUI, DWAI, at fault accident, or multiple moving violations on your record within the last 4 years, you will NOT be approved and should not apply for this position. General computer skills is a plus as we communicate with Google live sheets/OneDrive to relay customer information and scheduling. Scheduling your appointments will be part of the job.
