🏠 Buying a Home? Don’t Forget About the Drain Lines.

A standard home inspection is an important part of the home-buying process, but many home inspectors do not have the specialized equipment needed to inspect the condition of underground drain and sewer lines.

This photo was taken during a recent drain camera inspection and shows a broken sewer pipe hidden beneath the concrete surrounding an inground swimming pool. Issues like this often go unnoticed until after the purchase, leaving the new homeowner facing costly repairs that can run into the thousands of dollars.

At Horton Drain Services, we encourage prospective homebuyers to schedule a professional sewer camera inspection before closing on a home. Our cameras allow us to inspect the inside of the drainage system, identify cracks, breaks, root intrusion, offsets, bellies, and other hidden defects that cannot be seen from the surface.

This sewer line had recurring root problems, so we went all in:
✔️ Snaked the blockage
✔️ Hydro jetted the entire line
✔️ Camera inspected everything afterward

The jetter, in combination with our specialty root cutter nozzle , cleared the roots and buildup off the pipe walls, and the camera inspection let us verify flow and check for any bad spots in the line. Thorough work matters, especially drain lines that have recurring issues.
