In 1967, Thomas Duncan, started Duncan’s Landscaping with nothing more than a station wagon, a 21-inch Snapper push mower, a broom, and a pair of clippers. He trimmed bushes by hand, swept driveways himself with a broom, and took pride in every bed he edged with those same clippers. There were no shortcuts, just hard work, humility, and a belief that if you showed up every day and did things the right way, it would amount to something.
It all started with him.
This Christmas, our team completely surprised us by framing his very first uniform and hat, the ones he wore when this company was just an idea and a lot of long days. Seeing it stopped us in our tracks. That uniform represents the foundation of everything we are today. The sacrifices. The grit. The faith it took to start from the ground up.
What began with one man has grown into something so much bigger, and we truly believe he would be proud of how far Duncan’s Landscaping has come. At the same time, we know the journey isn’t finished. There’s still more to build, more to grow, and higher standards to live up to, just like he taught us.
We are incredibly grateful, for our employees who care this deeply, for the legacy we get to carry forward, and for the future ahead of us. We’re committed to honoring his name every single day.
Thank you, Papa Duncan. This all started with you.
