After 23 years in business we are looking for a new potential owner of Southern Michigan Radon. We have a good customer base with all of the tools, trailer and inventory included. It has been a good secondary business for us; but, we're ready to slow down a bit. The business has room to grow with some more advertising and outreach. I was raised by parents who instilled in me that "anything worth doing was worth doing right" my sons and I carry on with that thought process in our lives and definitely with our Radon systems. So it troubles us when we need to bid $100 or $150 more than the competitors for exceptional parts and attention to detail and lose the jobs. We are sometimes as little as 10% higher and they go with the other company to save a little. I contend that most people expect a different level of detail and quality when they hit a fast food drive thru than when they sit down at a steakhouse etc.. and that price is double or triple. So why not invest a little more in our homes?
Here are some pictures showing, no disconnect and a cord hanging in the breeze. No varmint guard on the top, and a fan jam packed with dead birds. The fittings didn't fit and were rotated to an odd position and cheap plexiglass was used to cover the sump and was broken. The system is replaced correctly now and the company that did this one is out of business. But that has been our battle for 22 years. Sorry for the rant.

There are times when it is permissible to vent without going past the roof. Unfortunately I've seen to many systems vent near upstairs windows or even just out the side of the house. These are good ways to have the radon re-enter through an open window. Use only NRPP licensed mitigators who know the codes! Unfortunately some of the chain companies will send out very inexperienced people. We are in our 22nd year. Give us a call.
