Recently we had the pleasure of helping a customer re-key the Front Door of their business. They had a common Commercial Glass Door, on the entrance of their business, and they asked us to come out and re-key it, or make it so that their current key would no longer operate the lock since they had some employee turnover. We arrived at their location and inspected the lock that needed to be re-keyed. We mentioned to the customer that here was no anti spin collar on the lock cylinder and we asked them if they wanted us to install one. They said “why do we need it?” We then told them that the lock was very vulnerable to a “forced opening” attack without this anti spin collar. The next questions was “what does it cost?” We told them that the anti spin collar was 24.95 and we would install it for no additional labor charge since we were already going to have the lock cylinder out for re-keying and they said “sign us up!” We performed the re-key and installed the anti spin collar. The customers thanked us for a thorough job.
