Dear followers & friends:

Some time, within the next few months, I will be deleting this page, & merging photos, & other neat garden stuff, to my personal page.

In short, FB & Meta have butted in too much. This isn't a business page as it once was, when I started it years ago & all their AI, & behind the scenes doings, fail to comprehend that, tho I made them aware at the time. But nope, no comprehension of the facts what so ever on their part. I no longer run a licensed NY State nursery, & haven't for the last few years. I continue to hybridize out of the passion for the flower & the enjoyment that it continues to bring me. And, I might add, appreciate & cherish the many wonderful friends I have made & kept along the way.

I will definitely post a notice of deletion, with a date, when I do this, so you can stay on board. I thank you all for you support, your comments, & interest, and I hope you continue to keep up with with Life at RavenCroft Cottage on my personal page.

Here's a photo of my very 1st introduction, RavenCroft First Born. I've never sold any of it. It has a permanent spot, centrally located, in my garden, where I see it everyday. I've come a long way from this one, but I Iove it as much as the latest & greatest I've produced. Enjoy.....

And a couple of daff shots this morning. Names with each photo.

Yet another weekend wrecked by the weather. 40˚ & rainy all morning. Yet there I go..... out to check on the newly germinated seedlings. I do have to say that no matter the weather, the anticipation always runs high, when I see them sprouting & pushing their way out of the soil. Where do they get their stamina from? This cross should produce some lovely rose pinks, with nice chalky watermarks, on well branched plants. RAV 23D is also tall, so I'm hoping that trait comes thru.... in all of them.

Yes, another weekend of garbage weather..... 40˚ & rainy. However, that doesn't stop me from checking the winter sown crosses. Here's one that almost guarantees a pattern in every seedling. Notice I said almost, because we all know s**t happens.

Here's another cross out of the gate....Bowtie Affair X Freckles and Pizza. The F&P photo is not mine.

AND..... THEY'RE OFF!!!! Yep, they're out of the gate already. Should get some lovely purples, bright green throats, & nice water marks with these, that are tall & well branched. RAV 24-013 X Vanishing Mist.

Yesterday it was 77˚ & I mowed..... & today it snowed. That should give you a good indication about daff season this year. It's been a bit of a bust. But the sun came out & the snow melted off allowing me to get some shots. These will likely be all I get this year. The elements have really beaten the early blooms into submission, while the mid season are holding their own. Enjoy......
