Right now, 75% of white oak trees are classified as "mature," while younger trees are limited. As we know, it takes decades for oaks to grow to maturity. It's certainly not too late, but our time to make a difference and ensure their sustainability is now. Here's to the future of our white oaks. 🌳

White oak is a very important species on our landscape for wildlife and forest industry. Unfortunately it is very quickly disappearing from forests. The White Oak Initiative is a resource I highly encourage all to look at!

As our native trees shed their leaves, it's prime time to spot invasive species like autumn olive, honeysuckle, and multiflora rose. These unwelcome guests tend to hold onto their leaves longer than our native species. Whether you're on a walk or fully immersed in the hunting season, keep a keen eye on your forest. If you spot any of these intruders, snap a photo, and share it with us! If you're concerned about invasive species and the well-being of your forest, don't hesitate to reach out.
