The shift into fall brings cooler weather, vibrant foliage, and a distinct wave of nostalgic community traditions.

As summer fades, the crisp autumn air makes it ideal for outdoor gatherings. Backyard bonfires become a popular way to enjoy the cooler evenings while roasting marshmallows and making s’mores.

Apples and pumpkins are at their best from September through November, making it the perfect time to visit local farms, pick fresh produce, and enjoy delicious pies, rolls, and other cherished fall traditions.

And, of course, don’t forget about all those leaves that will soon be coming down. When fall clean-up becomes a chore, Naylor is here to help keep your property looking its best throughout the season.

Things to keep in mind during the late-Summer season:

Water deeply - do a heavy, infrequent soak rather than a light daily sprinkle

Avoid heavy pruning on trees and shrubs

Keep flowers tidy and deadhead spent annuals and perennials

Pull weeds promptly so they do not steal remaining moisture and nutrients

Check for grubs - look for brown or spongy patches in the lawn.

Fall projects: Use late August to contact your landscape company for upcoming cooler-weather aeration and overseeding.
