🌱 Monday Lawn Tip – Spring in SW Michigan 🌱
Lawns are really starting to take off right now—but spring is a little different than summer.
đź’§ Watering
With all the rain we’ve been getting, most lawns don’t need regular sprinkler use yet.
That said, your system should still be:
Turned on
Checked for coverage
Adjusted if needed
Right now it’s more about making sure everything’s ready for summer—not running it constantly.
✂️ Mowing
Growth is picking up quick.
Stick to weekly mowing
Keep it around 3–3.5 inches
Don’t take off more than 1/3 at a time
Staying consistent now makes a big difference in how thick your lawn gets.
🌿 Fertilization
We’re getting close to the end of the window for Round 1 crabgrass prevention.
If you haven’t had it done yet, you’re risking more breakthrough and higher costs later.
This is one of the most important applications of the year.
đź’ˇ Bottom line:
Let the rain handle the watering, keep up with mowing, and don’t miss that pre-emergent timing.
📅 We’re currently scheduling:
Weekly mowing
Fertilization programs
Irrigation start-ups
