The numbers refer to the style of the main frame or outer frame. Rb, es, av, etc. refer to the seperate inner frame style.
gc refers to gilt corners, gl refers to gilt lip (not a seperate inner frame)

Here are two recent frames done in style 70av. The seascape is a 9 x 12" and has the warmer patina on the outer frame.The other is a 14 x 18" and has the cooler patina on the outer frame. Please email with any and all questions. [email protected]

This frame style I call the "Beader." I've only used it on smaller sizes but, it could be used on larger too. The four photos showing 4 frames are 3 different sizes. The largest is an 8 x 10", has the "ash" patina and the "bead" has been gilded gold. The next size down is a 6 x 8", has the "warm" patina with a gold bead. The other two are 5 x 7"s and have the "cool" patina. One has a silver bead and the other gold.
The frame on the chipmonk piece is a 15 x 9" and has no gilding. The photo frame is a 6 x 8", gilded gold and toned.
The beader has a deep rabbet, over an inch.

These photos are of frame style 70gl. It is roughly 2 1/2" wide and has a nice 1" rabbet which is usually ample room for mat, glass, backing, etc. to accomodate watercolors, pastels, etc. Being a single moulding frame it is more economical while still having some gold or silver leaf.
The frames on the boat, man on horseback and dessert lake paintings are 5 x 7"s, the winter scene an 8 x 10", the 3 antelope an 8 x 16" and the Blackfoot River poster a 36 x 24" for reference.

This frame style, the 70esmag, is one that I would recommend for larger paintings and keeps with the distressed outer frame and gilded inner frame. It is roughly 6 inches wide and has a rabbet of over 2 inches. It is even more handsome with the addition of ornamental corners and a nameplate.

I think my favorite part about building custom frames is the moment the artist and I see the painting in it's new frame for the first time. Hopefully there are a lot of smiles and hand shakes. I wish I could be there for that every time. I truly love my job.

I had my grand daughter help me paint an outer frame knowing all along that I was going to give her the finished piece. We had fun and now she wants to help me paint some more. Her mother jokingly accused me of recruiting slave labor.

Another new moulding I'm offering is the outer one on these two 8 x 10" frames. It's called the style 90. It's roughly 1 3/4" wide and deep and has plenty of personality.
