BEAR transformed a 12-acre vacant site in Bourbonnais into a
beautiful Road Ranger Travel Center as part of the company’s
nationwide expansion. BEAR was responsible for all site
improvements, including new underground utilities, fuel storage and delivery systems and the building itself. Outside, the new store
services automobiles with 16 fuel pumps under one canopy and
diesel trucks with 18 pumps under another. Inside, the 13,000-SF
facility features a mix of uses needed to service travelers, including a full retail store, a kitchen, a gaming area, two laundry rooms,
restrooms and (6) shower facilities. Also included is a large food
service area offering several dining options, including a Subway, a
Church’s Texas Chicken and a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Each has its
own full commercial kitchen and dining area to serve travelers along the I-57 corridor. Additionally, Gallagher Asphalt, Glade Plumbing & Piping, and Tenco Excavating were subcontracted on the project.
