I walked into a gift shop in Downtown Frenck Lick and couldn't stop laughing at all the signs.

Some were funny. Some were a little too accurate. And one gave me an idea...

Sometimes we wait for a "sign" that it's time to tackle that project around the house.

Well...consider this your sign. 😄

That bathroom you've been meaning to update... That deck board you've been meaning to replace... The drywall repair you've walked past for six months... That growing to-do list that somehow never gets shorter...

There never seems to be a perfect time. But there is a pretty great feeling that comes with finally crossing those projects off your list.

Whether you're a DIY pro or you've decided you'd rather spend your weekends doing literally anything else, don't let those unfinished projects keep hanging over your head.

This is your sign. 😉

If you've got a project that's been sitting on your "I'll get to it someday" list, send us a message. We'd love to help you turn that someday into done.

👇 What's been sitting on your home to-do list the longest? Be honest!

Confession time…

I have NEVER owned an Instapot. @

Today I borrowed my roommate’s to make hard boiled eggs for a salad and had to YouTube the directions because I had absolutely no clue what I was doing.

At one point I was staring at the pressure release valve thinking: “Is this safe?!” “Why is it hissing?!” “Should I be wearing protective gear for eggs?!” 😳🤣

But once I figured it out? I was honestly pretty impressed with how efficiently it worked. (The eggs turned out PERFECT!)

And weirdly enough…it reminded me a LOT of home renovation projects.

Most people don’t magically know how plumbing works, how drywall is repaired, why tile prep matters, or what goes into a remodel behind the scenes.

Heck, sometimes even learning a new appliance feels overwhelming at first!

That’s why experience matters.

In our business, we’re constantly learning new products, tools, techniques, and better ways to serve clients. Some lessons are big. Some are small. But growth usually starts with being willing to learn…even if it feels intimidating in the beginning.

Also, much like me with the Instapot pressure release, homeowners sometimes look at renovation projects and think: “This feels scary.” 😂

That’s where we come in.

We help walk clients through the process so things feel less overwhelming and more manageable—without the pressure cooker panic.

What’s something new you’ve learned recently that surprised you once you figured it out?👇

✨ Friday Wins at KNBKC ✨

This week reminded us that success isn’t always just about finished projects and crossed-off to-do lists…sometimes it’s about the little personal wins that keep you energized enough to keep showing up every day. 👏🏽

• One of our favorite “wins” this week?

Watching Kacey kick off her high school dance career with the BVHS Tigerettes AND earn Top Gun Finalist at camp! 🐯🔥 We’re big believers that hard work, consistency, and commitment pay off…whether it’s dance, fitness, or running a business.

• A fresh haircut may not technically be a business update…but morale matters, people. 😂 Sometimes a reset helps you show up better everywhere else too.

• Nutrition progress is continuing over here as well! Small consistent habits add up over time, and honestly, that mindset applies to home projects too. A little maintenance and intentional effort now can prevent BIG problems later. Shout out to Smart & Simple Nutrition with Andrea for helping keep things sustainable and realistic. 💪🏽

• We’re also still missing our temporary shop assistant Buster after dog sitting last weekend. He was very supportive of snack breaks and absolutely zero productivity. 🐶🤣

• And finally…Dance Nationals weekend for The Pulse PAC starts now! 💫 We know firsthand how much work happens behind the scenes before anyone ever sees the final product. Kind of like remodeling projects, honestly—people see the finished reveal, but not always the hours, planning, details, teamwork, and problem-solving it took to get there.

This week was busy, productive, chaotic, exciting…and honestly, pretty great.

What was YOUR bright spot this week? 👇🏽✨

Commitment is the key…🗝

Funny enough, dance teaches this really well.

If you halfway commit to the movement, the audience can feel it immediately. But when someone fully commits to the performance, the emotion, the energy…it pulls people in.

Business is honestly no different.

People can tell when a business is just “checking boxes” versus when they genuinely care about the quality of their work, how they treat people, and the standards they hold themselves to.

At KNBKC Repairs & Improvements, LLC, we try really hard to fully commit to the things that matter:

✔ Showing up
✔ Communicating well
✔ Doing quality work
✔ Treating people fairly
✔ Bringing positive energy into stressful projects

Is it always perfect? Nope. But commitment shows. Effort shows. Integrity shows.

And when you find people or businesses who consistently stand behind what they believe in and how they serve others…those are usually the ones worth keeping around.

Just sayin’.

We’re grateful for every person who continues to support, refer, follow, comment, and trust us with their homes.

Y’all make the hard work worth it.

We ALWAYS appreciate when someone takes the time to say good things about us. ❤️

It’s so easy to think, “Oh, I’ll leave a review later…” and then life happens. Trust me, we’ve all done it!

So when a client goes out of their way to leave a positive Google review, send a kind message, share a post, or recommend us to a friend…we know that took extra time and effort beyond just having the work done.

And that support means more than you probably realize. Small businesses grow because people talk about them, share them, and support them.

So thank you. Truly. We appreciate every like, share, comment, recommendation, and review. ❤️

And if we’ve ever done work for you and you’ve been happy with it, we’d love if you’d leave us a review or share your experience. It helps more families find businesses they can trust!

Today is a good day. 💙

Yesterday, I had a moment of frustration in my nutrition journey. I REALLY wanted some Go Chicken Go gizzards (IYKYK 😆), but more than that, I was frustrated because I felt like I wasn’t SEEING the results as quickly as I wanted.

You know…that “quick fix” mindset we all fall into sometimes.

The funny thing is, I have been doing the work: Tracking food. Drinking water. Eating breakfast. Fueling before early workouts. Getting protein and fiber. Checking in consistently. Showing up daily.

All the little behind-the-scenes things.

Then I compared a photo from March 18th, 2026 to a recent one and realized… The progress WAS there all along.

And honestly? It reminded me a lot of remodeling and home repairs.

Everyone notices the finished kitchen. The pretty bathroom. The new flooring.

But what people DON’T always see are the things behind the walls and underneath the surface that make the project successful: The prep work. The framing. The plumbing fixes. The leveling. The planning. The countless small steps that create the final result.

The behind-the-scenes work matters. Actually…that’s usually the MOST important part.

Same goes for personal growth, health journeys, and business growth. Big results are usually built from small, consistent actions nobody notices at first.

So today feels like a win.

Not because everything happened overnight, but because it’s proof that consistency DOES add up. 💪

And honestly? That applies to houses and humans. 😉

Finishing Strong Friday💪

After some of the biggest hurdles of the year, the stress level is finally starting to ease up a bit…and I’m not mad about it. 😅

This week brought some really cool wins!

The The Pulse Performing Arts Center celebrated its 20th Anniversary Recital, and Kendall officially completed her FINAL recital before we head into Nationals.

I’ve also been focusing on improving some daily habits lately — nutrition, sleep, water intake, workouts — and it’s amazing how much better you feel when the little things start falling into place.

Honestly, that mindset applies to homes too. Small fixes and maintenance matter, and taking care of things early usually prevents bigger headaches later.

At KNBKC Repairs & Improvements, LLC, we love helping homeowners with both the big exciting remodels and the smaller repairs that keep life running smoothly.

Also…yes, we have another beagle house guest this weekend. Busterrrrr (*yelling in my Kendrick Lamar voice*) has officially joined the chaos. 😂

If your home to-do list is growing faster than your free time, give us a shout — we’d love to help you finish strong too! 💪

I did pull-ups today... for the first time in at least 6 months.💪

A while back, I tweaked a trap/neck muscle and had to take a step back from some workouts.

Between physical therapy, exercises, and the thing none of us are very good at—REST—I’m finally working my way back. (Huge thanks to my PT for helping me get there!)

So today, I decided to test the waters.

I quickly learned that the version of me doing sets of 10 pull-ups is apparently on vacation right now. 😂 Sets of 2-3? That's more my speed these days.

In the middle of the workout, I looked over and saw Matt (pictured here) also battling his way through pull-ups. He was definitely making it look WAY easier than I was, but we both gave each other the "I won't quit if you don't" look.

And somehow, we survived.

It got me thinking how similar that is to running a small business.

Sometimes you're knocking projects out of the park. Sometimes you're rebuilding strength, adjusting expectations, and taking things one rep at a time.

Progress doesn't always look like giant leaps—it looks like showing up, doing the work, and refusing to quit when things get hard.

Whether it's a workout, a home repair, or growing a business, consistency wins.

(P.S. I finished with 45 total pull-ups today. Not my personal best, but definitely a win I'll take. 💪)

What's something you've had to work your way back from lately? 👇

06/02/2026

This past weekend marked my daughter's final dance recital. Just a couple of weeks ago, she graduated from high school.

As her mom, I've watched every rehearsal, competition, audition, victory, setback, and breakthrough.

As one of her dance teachers, I've had the privilege of seeing even more of the hard work that most people never see.

And while I'm incredibly proud, I'd be lying if I said this season hasn't been emotional.

Senior year was a whirlwind. Between performances, graduation events, planning for what's next, running a business, serving clients, managing projects, and trying to keep all the moving pieces together, it's felt like we've been operating at full speed for months.

Then I came across this quote:

"Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action." — Peter Drucker

That hit home.

As small business owners, we're wired to keep moving. Finish the project. Return the call. Write the estimate. Solve the next problem. Start the next job.

But growth doesn't happen from action alone.
Sometimes growth happens when we stop long enough to reflect on where we've been, what we've learned, and how far we've come.

Looking back on this season, I'm grateful.

Grateful for a daughter who worked tirelessly to achieve her goals and is stepping confidently into her next chapter.

Grateful for every homeowner who has trusted KNBKC with their repairs, remodels, and projects.

Grateful for the lessons that come from balancing family, business, and life's biggest milestones all at once.

The work matters.

The hustle matters.

But reflection matters too.

Because when we take time to appreciate the journey, we're often better prepared for whatever comes next.

Thank you for being part of ours.❤️

🤗Feelin' Good Friday Wins🤗

This past week has felt like a bit of a reset.

Since February, it's been full speed ahead around here. Between graduations, auditions, competitions, rehearsals, business, family life, and a few trips sprinkled in, it's been a LOT.

Was it busy? Absolutely.

Would I change any of it? Not a chance.

One thing this season has reminded me is that not every win has to be a huge milestone. Sometimes the little victories are the ones that keep us moving forward.

A few of mine this week:

✔️ A VERY chill Memorial Day weekend where I was basically suction-cupped to the couch.

✔️ Dogsitting George, our niece's fur-kid, who has been equal parts needy, snuggly, hilarious, and adorable.

✔️ The girls officially starting summer break. My oldest is gearing up for COLLEGE dance team rehearsals, and my youngest is preparing for HIGH SCHOOL dance team rehearsals. How did that happen so fast?!

✔️ Our studio recital is this weekend, and I'm incredibly proud of all the students who have worked so hard all year long.

✔️ A check-in with my nutritionist Andrea D'Ambrosio Bauer that reminded me progress doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it's just making small choices consistently, even when life feels chaotic.

And honestly, one of the biggest wins? Seeing our KNBKC community continue to trust us with their homes. Whether it's a major remodel or a small repair, we're grateful every time someone reaches out and allows us to be part of their story.

Now it's your turn...

What's something—big or small—that filled your cup this week? We'd love to celebrate it with you.
