If your house had a voice and a choice, we would bet it would say something similar to the song of the day's lyrics. Fly by night roofers are just no good and Roof Doctor, Inc. has some ways to help you identify them:

1. No insurance or business license. This is unequivocal! If you allow somebody like this to work on their property YOU can be sued by THEM for any injuries or damages, and they are completely off the hook. Don’t just take their word for it either. Demand to see papers!

2. A lack of business acumen and company knowledge. Some things to consider when picking a roofing contractor are an ability to articulate things like warranty packages, customer service policies and pricing structures in a specific, clear and articulate way. If it sounds like they only know the roofing side without having given much thought to building a company, beware!

3. Fly by night companies generally move in small operations of one or two people and the guy who does the estimate is often the guy on the roof. It’s easier to operate shady dealings in smaller numbers.

4. Bargain basement prices. The statement often holds true that “you get what you pay for”. There are good deals to be had, but be cautious about a company coming in way lower than the average quote from other companies.

5. Combine #4 with a lack of professionalism in manner, speech and attire and there’s a good chance you’ve found yourself a fly by night contractor.

6. Companies that pop up out of nowhere. Fly by nighters typically get all work by going door to door, whereas no legitimate contractor would do that. Look for a nice website, vehicles and preferably an office (although several legitimate operations work out of their house).

7. In the digital age, it is increasingly easy to vet a company’s history through client reviews as well as the Better Business Bureau. If the company has no reviews and is not BBB, then maybe move on!

Roof Doctor, Inc. has over 30 years experience doing residental and commercial roof repairs and much of our business comes from other's mistakes. Don't let yourself be taken advantage of. Call Roof Doctor, Inc. today for your roof repair needs. 816-356-5463

"Real Good Looking Boy" is a song written by the guitarist of the British rock band The Who, Pete Townshend. It was originally released in 2004 on the compilation album Then and Now, and was one of two new songs on that album, the other being "Old Red Wine". Together, they were the first new songs released by the Who for 15 years. It was later released as an edited single backed with the aforementioned song. "Real Good Looking Boy" was later performed in the 2007 rock musical The Boy Who Heard Music.

The song was a tribute to the legendary rock 'n roll singer Elvis Presley. During live performances, Roger Daltrey gives a short introduction to the song, describing it as a song about "A man that changed my life at the age of 11. I saw Elvis Presley live at 11. Thank God I did, I loved him because everybody under the age of 20 thought they were Elvis and dressed like him. Everybody over 20 hated them and that was good enough for me." The piano intro borrows from the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling in Love", and one of the later verses in "Real Good Looking Boy" uses lyrics from the first verse of the Elvis song.

There is nothing more unsettling than to find out your home is playing host to insects or critters. If you have these concerns or conditions, we will eliminate the entry points properly so the rodents cannot get back in to your home. Blocking, or exclusion is placing a barrier in an animal's way. We use a variety of materials to block access points located in soffits, eaves, utility entrance points, foundations, under porches, etc. This is an essential component of complete animal control solutions; without effective blocking and exclusion methods, animal problems will likely reoccur. Their music is characterized by strong, tight harmonies and virtuoso musicianship. In the last three years, the group has toured to general acclaim throughout the U.S and Europe, including appearances at Austin City Limits, South-by-Southwest, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Pickathon, and Merlefest. The North Carolina duo's music -- laced with bluegrass, country and folk -- is often wistful and contemplative without being somber, and always firmly grounded in the South.

Little is an American singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While working as a waitress in Philadelphia, Little performed with local bands and independently released an album in 2006 titled Drawing Circles before being signed to CBS Records in early 2008. She was subsequently chosen as the opening act for Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T Bone Burnett on their North American Raising Sand tour. Her first album with CBS, Perfect Time for a Breakdown, was released on May 27 of that year. As part of her deal with CBS Records, several of her songs have been featured on CBS programs such as NUMB3RS and NCIS. Without proper design, installation, and maintenance, a roof can suffer from ponding water, which can create a variety of adverse effects for you home.
 Accrual of dirt, debris and other impurities, which can mar the roof’s membrane.
 Distortion of the roof deck’s construction, as ponding water can significantly swell the load. As water gathers, deck deflections can intensify, producing more ponding water that may adversely influence the structural integrity of the deck.
 The emergence of algae and vegetation. If water is in place for extended intervals, algae and vegetation will probably result, triggering roof membrane damage. Furthermore, these materials can obstruct drains, often causing more ponding.

Ponding water often brings about hastened erosion and weakening of the membrane surface, leading to the roof system’s breakdown. Permeating even comparatively small quantities of moisture under the roof membrane may lower the insulation’s thermal efficiency. Plus, moisture invasion can cause severe impairment to the deck, insulation, membrane, and building interior.

Song of the day:

George Roger Waters (born 6 September 1943) is an English singer, songwriter, bassist, and composer. In 1965, he co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd with drummer Nick Mason, keyboardist Rick Wright, and guitarist, singer, and songwriter Syd Barrett. Waters initially served as the group's bassist, but following the departure of Barrett in 1968, he also became their lyricist, co-lead vocalist, and conceptual leader.

Pink Floyd achieved international success with the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. By the early 1980s, they had become one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful groups in the history of popular music; by 2013, they had sold more than 250 million albums worldwide. Amid creative differences, Waters left in 1985 and began a legal dispute with the remaining members over their use of the band's name and material. They settled out of court in 1987, and nearly eighteen years passed before he performed with them again.
