We recently wrapped up a comprehensive roof inspection on a large commercial property.

Think that recent hail storm was "no big deal" because you can't see huge holes in your roof? Think again.

We often hear homeowners say, "My roof looks fine." But hail damage isn't usually dramatic. It's subtle, and it's cumulative.

Take a look at these two photos to see exactly what we mean.

On the left: A Fresh Hail Hit. This looks like just a small ding. It's lost some granules, exposing the black mat underneath. It doesn't look like much, but that's the "bruise." The protection is gone.

On the right: A Hit, 5 Years Later. This is what happens when that "small ding" is neglected. The sun, rain, and snow have been pounding that exposed spot for years. The shingle has completely broken down, curled up, and is now cracked. This is a major leak just waiting to happen.
