🏠 Not All Foundation Cracks Mean the Same Thing
Have you noticed a crack in your basement or foundation wall? Before you assume it's harmless, take a closer look at the direction and location of the crack.
🔹 Vertical cracks are often associated with normal settling, especially when they are narrow, dry, and not growing.
🔹 Horizontal cracks deserve more attention because they can indicate pressure against the foundation wall and may lead to bowing, water intrusion, or further foundation movement.
Other warning signs to watch for include stair-step cracks, uneven floors, sticking doors or windows, and water entering through cracks.
👉 Not sure what your foundation cracks mean? Heartland Foundation Repair can help determine whether you're looking at normal settling or a problem that needs attention.
