A vision years in the making is now a reality! We were proud to work with East Buchanan C-1 School District on the completion of the new East Buchanan Middle School—a state-of-the-art facility designed to support learning, collaboration and community for generations of Bulldogs to come.

From the central commons and media center to specialized classrooms and an ICC 500-rated storm shelter gymnasium that doubles as a community gathering space, every element of this 41,000-square-foot school was thoughtfully designed with flexibility, safety and student success in mind.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! 🍎

Today we celebrate the incredible teachers who dedicate themselves to shaping the future of our school districts and communities. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and we’ve had the privilege of seeing that influence firsthand in the relationships you build, the environments you create and the lives you inspire every single day.

We had a special kind of crew on site for Take Your Kid to Work Day!

A couple of our teammates brought their kiddos out to Platte County R-3 School District to get a firsthand look at the progress for Phase II of Platte County High School, and let’s just say, curiosity was high and questions were even higher. It’s always a great reminder of why we do what we do when we can share it with the next generation.

A big thank you to Newkirk Novak Construction Partners for taking the time to walk them through parts of the construction process and make it both fun and educational. Opportunities like this make a lasting impression, and it was awesome to show how far the project has come.

On this day in 2023, incite Design Studio celebrated the completion of Indian Woods Middle School for the Shawnee Mission School District, an innovative transformation designed to better support how students learn and teachers teach today.

Originally built in the 1960s and expanded over time, the school no longer aligned with modern educational needs. Working within a tight timeline and budget, our team focused on creating meaningful impact within the existing structure, reimagining the traditional classroom wing to foster collaboration and flexibility.

A new three-story addition between existing stair towers transformed a narrow corridor into a dynamic, double-loaded learning hub. Each level now features expansive collaboration zones and flexible spaces for maker activities, media production, robotics, and small group learning, empowering students with choice and adaptability.

The project also introduced updated building systems, improved amenities, modern classroom technology, and new furniture throughout, creating a more functional, future-ready environment for the entire school community.

As we celebrate 25 years, we’re looking back at the projects that shaped our journey and the communities we were honored to serve. Stay tuned for more highlights throughout the year.

We’re excited to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Greenwood Elementary School for the Lee's Summit R-7 School District.

As one of the district’s oldest facilities, Greenwood holds a special place in the community—and this new chapter represents a meaningful investment in its future. From early visioning conversations with district leadership to collaborative work with administrators and teachers, this project has been shaped by a shared commitment to creating a space that supports students, staff, and the broader community.

The new Greenwood Elementary is designed to foster collaboration, provide safe and welcoming learning environments, and continue serving as a vital hub for the community it has long supported. We’re grateful that incite Design Studio could be part of this journey and is proud to support the district as this exciting project comes to life. Congratulations to everyone involved—we can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

Nothing beats learning by doing. Our team had a great time hosting high school interns, Grace & Brielle, on a site visit to K**b Noster High School to give them a firsthand look at how ideas on paper come to life in the field.

We love welcoming student interns, whether it’s for a day or a full semester. There’s something special about watching them dig into a project, ask questions and start to see what a future in architecture could really look like.
