This compact stand-behind loader is a major efficiency upgrade for our Kansas City landscaping and hardscaping projects.

What makes it a game changer:
• Narrow footprint (~4 ft wide) — fits through most gates and tight access areas
• High lift (~6 ft) — faster loading and cleaner grading
• ~2,857 lb tipping load capacity — moves soil, rock, and pallets efficiently
• Attachments we use constantly: forks, high-volume smooth bucket, tooth bucket, and a hydraulic auger with bits for shrubs and precision tree planting.

It’s been raining a lot in Kansas City lately—and drainage issues show up fast. 🌧️
Standing water, soggy grass, erosion, or water near the foundation usually means one thing: water doesn’t have a clean path to exit the property.

This is what we focus on:
• Proper drainage always
• Gravel/fabric where needed
• Proper backfill behind retaining walls
• Routing water away from structures after final grade

Kansas City sod + regrade fix. 🌱

After the water company replaced the front main line, the trench backfill wasn’t compacted properly—so it settled. The yard started dipping, holding water, and the grass struggled.

Our fix (half-day, in-and-out):
✅ Re-graded the low area to restore proper drainage
✅ Compacted the base before sod (no future settling)
✅ Installed new sod for a clean, finished look.

Best part: this was a rental property, and the property management company handled the bill, so the homeowner didn’t have to worry about it.

Meet the Owner — Lucas Miquelon (Juke KC Commercial Landscaping)
I’ve been building since I was a kid (there’s a photo of me at 4, caked in mud to prove it). Today, I lead owner-operated crews delivering landscapes, retaining walls, paver patios, drainage solutions, and tree installs across Kansas City metro & northland.

A few photos that tell my story:
• Zip-line + Mexico waterfalls (barefoot): adventure keeps me curious and resilient.
• Mountaintops (solo & with Jenna) + a 4x4 high-altitude trail: the outdoors shapes my work ethic.
• Chiefs game with Jenna: KC pride.
• HNA in Louisville: I invest in training and product knowledge every year.
• Solo trips in the truck.
• Annual trip with my mom: family and fresh air are my “why.”
• Sunflower-field grin: I love being outside.

Before ➡️ After: Patio edition

This homeowner had a small brick patio that just wasn’t working anymore.

🔹 Too small for a real table or entertaining
🔹 Steep right outside the sliding door
🔹 Bare dirt between the patio and the yard, which was rough with dogs running in and out

We completely rebuilt the space:
✅ Removed the old patio and step
✅ Rebuilt both the wood steps to the deck and the stone step at the house
✅ Excavated and installed a new aggregate base
✅ Expanded the patio toward the grass for more usable space
✅ Re-laid the brick and blended in new clay brick from KC Brick
✅ Added reinforced edging and polymeric sand for stability and easy maintenance

Now they’ve got a flat, functional patio with room for a full-size dining set, plants, and plenty of everyday use.

Big change to this front yard.👇

Before, this house had a basic slope of grass running straight into the foundation. There wasn’t really a defined landscape bed, and the downspouts were sending water right toward the foundation.

Here’s what we did:
✅ Installed a curved retaining wall to create a raised planting bed
✅ Buried the downspout under the wall and tied it into the drainage
✅ Built the wall with a proper compacted base and drain so it will last
✅ Left the inside as a clean “blank slate” so the homeowners can add their own soil, plants and river rock

The front entry now has real curb appeal and better water management. The wall ties into the house nicely and gives them a low-maintenance space to landscape on their own schedule.

If you’re in the Kansas City area and your front yard is a sloped grade against the foundation , this is a great way to add structure, protect your foundation, and make the home look finished.
