Happy New Year from Kempton Excavating! Here are a few shots from our latest auger boring project. We installed 120’ of 60” diameter steel casing in rock under route 80, in East Stroudsburg, PA. We also had the pleasure of launching this 13,200 lb small boring unit equipped with a mixed ground/rock head from The Robbins Company. While a project like this is never without it’s share of challenges, I am 100% confident that we chose the best tool for the job. Our crew pushed hard over the last couple weeks of 2022 working late hours and in miserable weather conditions to finish the crossing on schedule before the Christmas Holiday.

Here we are boring under route 22 in Bethlehem. 29’ deep, 30” diameter x 180’ in length through solid limestone. Only took 7 days of drilling with the Robbins SBU30 disc cutter head. You could tell it did the work, but there was no measurable wear on the cutters.
