Another emergency sewer line repair in the books. This one had it all — a deck blocking access, frozen ground, a complicated tie-in, and even a water line crossing the trench.
Big thank you to property sisters for trusting us once again with another emergency repair. We’re proud to work with their organization, whether it’s plowing after a storm or being in the trenches on a line repair. We take a lot of pride in being available when it matters most.

First, Roto-Rooter came out to snake and inspect the line, where they found a separation at the cleanout. Once we knew what we were dealing with, we got the ground thaw unit on site, removed the deck (saving the entire platform to keep rebuild costs down for the owner), and had the ground thawing right away. About a day and a half later we were digging.
During excavation we uncovered a private water line crossing the trench, which meant working fast to avoid flooding the hole while also gathering parts to make the repair.
Once we reached the sewer, we found the main issue — frost had grabbed the cleanout riser and pulled it out of the fitting. We exposed the line fully, inspected the run from the house to the tank, and found a significant belly where an ADU line had been tied in. The tank was also close to overflowing, so we called Super Septic, and they were on site within a few hours, no questions asked.
We added a new cleanout before the tie-in, rebuilt the connection, tested the line, and backfilled to the water line before making that repair as well. Final backfill wrapped up at 8:15 PM tonight.
Shout out to the contractors who jumped in on short notice, and to my crew for putting in the long hours to get this handled.
This is the kind of work that isn’t pretty, but it’s what keeps things running.
