Kevin B's 5-Star Review

I had a great experience with Sunlight Contractors for a spray foam insulation job in my metal garage. From start to finish, the process was smooth and professional.

Ira, the owner, was straightforward, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He communicated with me throughout the entire process and answered all questions I could think of. Clayton, the estimator, took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure the quote and scope were accurate with no surprises.

On install day, Corey and his crew did an excellent job. They were on time, respectful of the space, and clearly knew what they were doing. The spray foam application was clean, consistent, and well done, and they left the site neat when they finished.

The building already feels noticeably better insulated, and I’m very happy with the results. I’d definitely recommend Sunlight Contractors to anyone looking for quality spray foam work and a professional, reliable team.

Our team at Sunlight Contractors completely restored this 100-year-old Uptown New Orleans home from the ground up — eliminating moisture problems, rebuilding the structure, and remodeling the entire first floor into a healthy, efficient, and beautiful living space.
We began by tunneling under the home because it was only 3”-4” off the ground to perform a complete moisture remediation of the subfloor, sanitizing with Mold Stat, Jo-Max, and RMR, then treating every beam and joist with Bora-Care with blue tracer dye. After drying the structure to under 10% moisture, we encapsulated the subfloor with 3" of Gaco Western closed-cell spray foam, forming a permanent v***r and air barrier.
Once stabilized, we remodeled the entire first floor, rebuilding 2×10 joists, installing new ¾″ subfloors, and laying over 1,000 sq. ft. of hardwood flooring. The kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas were fully upgraded with new cabinetry, tile, paint, and trim — all while the home was disinfected and air-purified using HEPA scrubbers and negative-pressure systems.
Outside, we replaced all siding and insulation with 4″ Rockwool, a new weather barrier, and Hardie Board siding finished in Sherwin-Williams premium paint. We also rebuilt nineteen windows, installed three wall-mounted dehumidifiers, added a ventilation fan under the house, and finished with a brand-new custom privacy fence.
From the crawlspace to the crown molding, this project reflects the Gold-Star Building Science Standard — moisture control, air sealing, and craftsmanship built to last for decades.

The customers review on Sunlight Contractors
I hired Sunlight Contractors to resolve serious moisture and structural issues in my 100-year-old New Orleans home, and their team went above and beyond! They were so quick to address an extreme mold issue underneath the house that they discovered had also penetrated into the walls requiring a complete renovation of the downstairs. I was told by others - including the home inspector – that the crawl space was too small to get into, but Sunlight Contractors actually tunneled under the house. They disinfected and treated every inch of wood with EPA-approved solutions, thoroughly dried the subfloor, and sealed it with Bora-Care and closed-cell spray foam. How do I know they treated every inch? They use a blue dye to ensure nothing is missed!
They did not stop there. When severe hidden rot was discovered, they immediately updated me with a clear plan. They replaced rotted plywood and joists, pre-treated all new wood for mold and termites, and rebuilt the floor system to code.
In addition, Sunlight handled extensive plumbing, electrical, siding, painting, and Sheetrock work — all done with the same professionalism, integrity and attention to detail. Every in-house trade was coordinated seamlessly with no stress, and I could not be more pleased with the results!
What impressed me most was their commitment to long-term solutions and transparency. They documented every step, provided daily updates including photos and videos, and never cut corners as the original builders of the home obviously did. I highly recommend Sunlight Contractors to anyone who wants their home protected and restored the right way! They truly care about their customers and their work.

🚨 Severe Powder Post Beetle/Termites & Mold Infestation—FULL Remediation Completed in Baton Rouge! 🚨
This 3,600 sq. ft. home had serious structural issues:
🪲 Powder post beetles had infested the floor joists and subfloor
💧 Wood moisture readings reached 24–30%
🦠 Mold was growing throughout the crawl space
Here’s how Sunlight Contractors tackled it head-on with zero shortcuts:
✅ Sprayed all wood with EPA-certified mold killer & disinfectants—twice
✅ Replaced 75% of the floor joists & installed new ¾” plywood + hardwood floors
✅ Dried all wood down to 15% moisture using indirect heating
✅ Applied 2 rounds of Boric Acid followed by 2 rounds of Bora-Care to kill all beetles & protect against re-infestation
✅ Sprayed Kilz All Weather Sealer on every subfloor wood member to lock it all in
✅ Laid a full 6-mil v***r barrier, sealed the perimeter & regulated with a project manager daily
✅ Applied 2”–2.5” of closed-cell spray foam to create a monolithic moisture and insect barrier
✅ Installed 2 negative pressure fans with built-in thermostats to bring in fresh air & maintain healthy circulation
💪 This wasn’t just pest control. This was total structural protection for the life of the home.

Review of Annie C. of New Orleans, 70125
Ira and his team have been fantastic to work with! After Clayton came out and gave me a thorough estimate, taking the time to explain the scope of work and why things needed to be done, Ira got to work right away! I’ve been very impressed with the whole team— and thrilled to learn they do *everything* so instead of having to search for contractors to finish out my space they’re doing it all with a speed and competency that’s been very hard to find. Ira has made sure that I understand what’s going on and has been really wonderful to work with. We’re still mid-process and so far I’m extremely pleased! The spray foam job looks great and I’m excited to finally be able to keep my house cool in the summer!

"Long review, but worth the read"~We fell in love with a house that miserably failed inspection due to numerous humidity, mold, and hvac insufficiencies. In looking for solutions and ways to resolve these issues for good and clean up all the existing mold and insulation problems, thankfully we found Ira and Sunlight Contractors. Sunlight Contractors delivered exceptional service on a detailed project for our home, showcasing their professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail. They handled every aspect seamlessly and exceeded our expectations.
The team began by addressing a significant mold issue, sanitizing all three HVAC systems, ductwork, supply and return lines, and applying an EPA-certified mold killer (Mold Stat Plus) throughout the attics and floors. Their thorough cleaning ensured our home was safe and mold-free.
As licensed HVAC contractors, they sanitized the A/C coils and installed Reme Halo air disinfectant systems in all three units to improve indoor air quality. They also educated us on how to maintain these systems by replacing MERV-13 filters regularly.
Next, they upgraded our attic insulation by installing approximately 8,000 sq. ft. of SucraSeal Class A fire-rated open-cell spray foam, bringing it up to R-38 and fully encapsulated rafters, top plates, eaves, and soffits for a flawless monolithic seal.
To regulate humidity, Sunlight installed two Santa Fe 155-pint standalone dehumidification systems with MERV-13 filters. We also installed a 10” roof jack to supply fresh air into the dehumidification units. This keeps attic humidity in the 40% range and ensures healthy optimal air quality throughout our home.
The team also addressed structural and ventilation needs by stabilizing a cypress beam in the kitchen and extending the kitchen hood ventilation, 30 feet up through the attic and installed a waterproof 8” roof jack for proper ventilation.
We were especially impressed by their credentials and certifications, which include being licensed residential, commercial, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mold remediation contractors with the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors. They are also SPFA Master Spray Foam Installers, BPI Gold Star Contractors, RESNET Energy Raters, ABAA Members, and GAF Master Elite Roofers. Their knowledge and skills were evident in every aspect of the project.
Now, our home is healthier, more efficient, and incredibly comfortable. The air quality has dramatically improved, insulation is top-notch, and humidity is perfectly controlled. My utility bills on an 8,000 sq. ft. house will be negligible.
If you’re looking for a licensed, certified company that delivers outstanding results and on-time performance I highly recommend Sunlight Contractors. Their attention to detail, guarantees, and professionalism is unmatched. With over 2,100 5-star reviews, they are truly the best in the business. Thank you, Sunlight Contractors, for transforming our home!

Craigs Summary of Renovation Purpose:
The comprehensive renovation plan is designed to create a safe, mold-free, energy-efficient home by addressing key issues of mold removal, humidity control, air sealing, and whole-home insulation. The process we used to renovate craig’s home is as follows:
1. Mold Removal: Treating all surfaces in the attic, walls, ceilings, and floors with EPA-certified Mold Stat Plus to eliminate mold and microbial growth. This includes wiping down furniture and appliances to ensure a safe and healthy living environment.
2. Humidity Control: Installing two Santa Fe 120-pint/day whole-house dehumidifiers to manage indoor humidity effectively. These systems ensure long-term moisture control while providing fresh air ventilation.
3. Air Sealing: Applying 3 inches of closed-cell spray foam in the attic and cathedral ceilings to seal air leaks, prevent moisture infiltration, and improve thermal performance. A v***r barrier and indirect heating system are used to dry the subfloor below 10% moisture before insulating.
4. Insulation: Insulating the attic and subfloor with closed-cell spray foam to enhance energy efficiency, reduce heating and cooling costs, and improve comfort.
5. Interior Finishing: Replacing and finishing sheetrock, painting walls and ceilings, and updating trim to restore the home’s appearance while ensuring an airtight and clean interior.
This renovation process eliminates mold, resolves humidity issues, seals the building envelope, and insulates the entire home, creating a healthier, more comfortable, and energy-efficient living space.

CRAIGS 5-STAR GOOGLE REVIEW.
Sunlight Contractors deserves more than 5 stars for the exceptional work they did on my home! From start to finish, their team of highly qualified professionals demonstrated unparalleled expertise and efficiency. They tackled every aspect of the project with precision, addressing all line-by-line issues highlighted in inspections and going above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect.

Their certifications in mold remediation, closed-cell insulation, and house leveling were evident in the quality of their work. They also installed termite shields, a dehumidifier unit, and an air purification system, which have drastically improved the comfort and safety of my home. Their plumbing and electrical upgrades were seamless, and they left no stone unturned in ensuring everything met the highest standards.

The Sheetrock and painting were done with exceptional care and craftsmanship, leaving my home looking as good as new. The speed at which Sunlight Contractors completed the job was truly impressive without ever compromising on quality.

“My wife and I purchased a home in 2020 and were recently devastated when finding out we had a mold/moisture issue in our sub-flooring as a result of improper spray foam installation that resulted in costly damage. Ira Bosh and Sunlight Contractors came highly recommended, and we were able to get a very fast and fair quote with a plan to remediate our issues. Ira's communication and knowledge have been exceptional thus far. He and his team were able to start repairs immediately and he has been in contact with us each day with updates and photos. He has been extremely kind and patient, explaining each step and answering any questions. We would highly recommend Sunlight Contractors to anyone in a similar situation.”
Jacob’s home had closed cell spray foam in his subfloor/crawlspace that we had to remove by hand. The closed cell spray foam had to be removed due to mold and moisture problems. Jacob’s floors in the interior of his home were buckling and cupping. This was a very tedious job that took over 7 days with 6 men. After removing the closed cell spray foam, we dried the subfloor and wooden substrate down to 8% moisture content and followed with spraying closed cell spray foam throughout the entire subfloor. The contractor that sprayed Jacob’s subfloor sprayed the closed cell spray foam on his wooden substrate when it had a high moisture content trapping the moisture in between the interior floor and the wooden substrate and that is what caused the floors to buckle and cup. Always choose a contractor that is licensed and insured with the Louisiana State board of Contractors and do your research on whoever you hire.

Melissa was experiencing ongoing termite problems in her home. She started attempting to fix her home problems by calling termite companies and then other contractors to remove these issues she thought she had. Melissa called Sunlight Contractors after trying other companies with no success. We sent over our trained technicians to measure and inspect her home. After inspecting her home, we came up with a successful plan of action to repair her sick home. We started by removing the existing closed cell spray foam that the other companies and contractors overlooked completely. Our crew removed the existing closed cell spray foam by hand. We removed off over 1,800 sq. ft. of closed cell spray foam from the subfloor/crawlspace. After removing the closed cell spray foam, we noticed that Melissa didn’t just have termite problem, but she also had extensive moisture damage that was beginning to rot her subfloor out. The moisture damage is what was drawing the termites to her home, it was a huge food source for the termite infestation. Then we used Sunlight Contractors’ full proof process to remove the moisture problems in Melissa’s home. We brought the floor joists, and all the wood members down from 30% and above down to 5%-8% with a 500,000 BTU indirect heater and then we sprayed base Kilz paint that termite hate & then sprayed an average of 3” of closed cell spray foam on the subfloor, floor joists, beams and all the way out to the rim joists to encapsulate it and to prevent moisture and termite problems for the life of the home. After the above process we supervised a licensed termite company to dig a trench and fill it with Termidor and let it sink deep into the ground around the perimeter of the home to provide a defense and kill all the termites. Melissa could have avoided this entire problem the first time when she first noticed the termites if she found Sunlight Contractors. Hiring a contractor that is not licensed by the Louisiana State Board of contractors can mean that you will be spending your money two or three times over again for the same problem. When hiring someone to fix one of your biggest investments, always hire a licensed and insured contractor who’s knowledgeable, preferably one who is well reviewed and can give you a written guarantee on their work.

PLEASE READ REVIEW FROM ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS.
I can’t remember ever doing a review before, but I felt that my experience warranted this review.
I am building a woodworking shop, and looking forward to many blissful hours of building things in my upcoming retirement. It only took a few days of summer, to realize that the metal building I had constructed needed to be insulated.
Through much research, I discovered that spray foam was the best for my shop. I discovered that there are many people living nightmares because of improperly applied spray foam. I read reviews and made calls to talk with installers directly (something I highly recommend). After speaking with Mr. Ira Bosh with Sunlight Contractors, I made my decision. Having done months of research, I knew that I could get the job done a little cheaper. But I believe when you buy cheap, you get cheap and I didn’t want to live one of those nightmares I saw online.
I contracted with Sunlight Contractors to do the job and scheduled the installation date. The installers arrived on time as scheduled and got started. The job went much quicker that I expected, having to spray 3 inches over 1845 square foot of walls/ceiling. When done, the crew cleaned the area, and reviewed the work with me. I got the sense that they were proud of their work and wanted my honest opinion. To me, this is sign of a company that cares about the job they do.
