🛠️ ROUND SHOVEL vs. FLAT SHOVEL 🛠️

A lot of people see a pile of dirt and think a shovel is a shovel. Not quite!

✅ Round Shovel • Designed for digging • Penetrates compacted soil easier • Great for trenches, planting holes, and cutting through roots • Best tool for breaking ground

Azaleas are setting buds right now in New Orleans 🌸
In USDA Zone 9b, this is the calm-before-the-color.
A few local tips that matter:
Azaleas want bright shade or morning sun, not full afternoon heat. They love acidic, well-drained soil, which means good mulch is your best friend here. Pine straw works great in our climate.
If yours finished blooming earlier this season, pruning should already be done — pruning late cuts off next year’s flowers. Yellow leaves usually mean poor drainage or soil pH, not a lack of fertilizer.
Healthy roots now = a full spring bloom later.
That’s how azaleas show appreciation 🌿
