Here's What to Do Until the Rytech Water Damage Technician Arrives
In Order to Preserve and Protect the Property…
If you cannot determine the source of the water and the water is incoming, contact a roofer, plumber, or leak detection company. (Rytech can provide you with a few local businesses to call if you don’t know one.)
Be extremely careful of wet, slippery floors, which are the greatest cause of accidents after water damage!
Please don't use your household vacuum, as this may cause electrical shock.
(This is a job for certified technicians who extract water every day!)
If possible, keep the indoor temperature below 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius) until our specialist arrives.
Please feel free to place foil or plastic below furniture legs to prevent rust or furniture stains to the flooring.
Please notify your technician and insurance adjuster immediately of any WET CONTENTS (area rugs, shoes, clothes, linens, pocketbooks, furniture, electronics, or other items in closets and underneath beds.)
Place draperies through coat hangers and hang them on the rod to prevent water circles.
Please remove china, crystal, and breakables from cabinets in affected areas that need to be moved when your technician arrives.
Please remove shoe boxes, suitcases, or other boxes and small items from the floor of the wet areas but try not to walk on the wet carpeting, as this may spread water to adjoining areas.
