Roger Leggett founded Chad's Bracket after he and his son, Chad, witnessed a mother struggling to navigate a hospital elevator while carrying her child, managing an IV pole, and pulling a wagon during visits to see Roger’s granddaughter at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as she bravely battled cancer.
In that moment, Chad simply said, “There has to be a better way.”
Determined to help families facing similar challenges, Roger and several coworkers began developing a way to securely mount IV poles to hospital wagons, making it easier for children and parents to move throughout the hospital together.
Tragically, Chad passed away at just 24 years old before the first wagons could be completed. In honor of Chad’s compassionate spirit and vision, Roger carried the mission forward through the creation of Chad’s Bracket.
During its annual Sunshine Conference, Rytech proudly sponsored 15 wagons as part of a meaningful team-building initiative. Together, Rytech Restoration and industry partners worked elbow to elbow in teams, assembling the wagons with a shared purpose — to bring comfort, convenience, and a little bit of joy to families navigating difficult hospital journeys.
The completed wagons were delivered to Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, by Rytech COO Randy Kerlin and Roger Leggett.
Today, families, organizations, and companies sponsor Chad’s Bracket wagons that are donated to hospitals across the United States and around the world — helping make difficult journeys a little easier for children and the families who love them.
