Good landscape design isn’t always about starting from scratch. Sometimes it’s about looking at what’s already there and making thoughtful choices about what stays, what goes, and why.

For this project, plant removal was considered carefully. If something is healthy, noninvasive, doing an important job, or has personal meaning to the homeowner, it deserves a place in the conversation.

We’re excited to welcome Sage to the GreenWeaver team as our new Stewardship and Gardening Supervisor! 🌿

Sage brings a deep curiosity about the natural world, a strong background in gardening, and a thoughtful approach to stewardship. With a Fine Art degree from Arcadia University and a long-standing fascination with insects, plants, and the relationships between them, Sage’s path has centered around an important idea: working alongside nature rather than shaping it solely to fit our own expectations.

Before joining GreenWeaver, Sage led a team of edible, herbal, and medicinal gardeners through residential garden installation and maintenance. They bring that hands-on experience to our Stewardship and Gardening Department, along with strong communication and organizational skills that help create a smooth, thoughtful experience for clients and team members alike.

Outside of work, you can often find Sage in their own garden studying the relationships between flora and fauna—or tackling projects at home with their wife and two cats, Penny and Boy.

We’re so glad to have Sage on the team and look forward to the care, knowledge, and leadership they’ll bring to the GreenWeaver community!

Great landscape design is often about solving challenges in ways that make a space feel even better in the end.

For this project, one of the biggest design considerations was relocating an existing playset to make room for a more open, functional outdoor living area around the pool and patio. The goal was to keep the playset visible from the main space while also giving it a bit more privacy for the grandkids who love to use it.

By regrading and relocating the playset to a lower portion of the property, our team was able to create a solution that worked beautifully with the site—and even highlighted the property’s natural grade change in an unexpected way.

We’ve moved—and we’re growing! 🌿

GreenWeaver has a new home, and with it, we’re excited to expand our services throughout Chester County, PA.

Since 2008, we’ve been providing ecological landscape design, construction, and garden maintenance throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware, and that isn’t changing. We’ll continue serving the communities and clients we’ve worked with for years while also bringing our approach to more properties across Chester County.

From outdoor living spaces and native plantings to stormwater management, pollinator habitats, and ongoing garden care, our goal remains the same: to create beautiful, useful, and healthy landscapes that support both people and the planet.

We’re excited for this next chapter and grateful to continue growing alongside the communities we serve. 💚

Beautiful outdoor spaces should work well in every kind of weather.

For this project, thoughtful stormwater management was a key part of the design. With a significant slope behind the property, our team needed to make sure water would move through the landscape without pooling around the patio, outdoor kitchen, or pool.

By incorporating a swale and tiered rain gardens, we created a solution that helps capture and absorb runoff while still feeling natural within the landscape. After a major rainstorm during the project, we were even able to adjust the plan in real time based on how water was actually moving through the site.

It’s a great example of how good landscape design can be both beautiful and hard-working.

Bugs may not always have the best reputation, but our gardens need them!

From bumblebees and butterflies to ladybugs, beetles, ants, moths, and dragonflies, insects provide important ecosystem services every day. They pollinate plants, enrich soil, decompose waste, support birds and wildlife, and help keep pest populations in check naturally.

The best outdoor spaces feel connected to the home they belong to.

For this project, the outdoor kitchen design started with details the client already loved—especially the beautiful blue-gray stone used on the home’s exterior and chimney. By carrying that same material into the kitchen and pairing it with bluestone patio surfaces, the finished space feels cohesive, intentional, and right at home in the landscape.

The design also focused on everyday functionality, with features like a grill, mini fridge, trash storage, and prep space that make it easy to cook, gather, and enjoy time outside without constantly running back indoors.
