Summer heat is just around the corner. It's important to stay familiar with the risk factors for heat illness to keep yourself and those around you safe. Your risk for heat illness may be increased with the following factors:
☀️ A lower degree of acclimatization. In general, people are more susceptible to heat illness until their bodies have had time to adjust, typically within one to two weeks.
☀️ Dehydration. Remember that hydration begins before the job starts! Without sufficient water intake, the body will be unable to sweat to cool itself and may overheat.
☀️ Failure to replace electrolytes with healthy snacks and carbohydrates.
☀️ Excessive consumption of caffeinated and carbonated beverages.
☀️ Certain over-the-counter and prescription medications.
Safety is a core value at Osborne’s Tree Services LLC , defined as "we protect and care for one another." Heed these reminders this summer to stay cool and safe!
