We get a lot of calls in October and November from homeowners noticing water seeping under their garage door. By then, the rain is steady and the fix feels urgent.

Here's a quick summer task that takes about two minutes:

Walk to the outside of your garage door and look at the rubber seal along the bottom. Is it cracked, brittle, or flattened? Does it leave a visible gap between the door and the floor?

If so, it's time to replace it. And doing it now, while things are dry, is a lot easier than dealing with it during a November downpour.

Also worth checking: the weatherstripping along the sides and top of the door frame. Over time, PNW moisture and temperature swings break down that rubber, and once it's gone, you're letting in water, drafts, and pests.

This is a simple, inexpensive repair. We keep weatherstripping in stock and can take care of it during a regular service call.
