Progress Update
BlackOut Construction is making serious progress on the upcoming Skulls & Scruffs Barbershop in Dayton’s historic Oregon District!
As we opened things up, we discovered extensive water damage caused by the previous owners’ wash chair, along with additional damage in the bathroom.
To properly correct the problem—not just cover it up—we’re carefully removing the damaged flooring and subflooring all the way down to the joists. This includes removing the existing 1/2" layer and both layers of the original 3/4" tongue-and-groove flooring.
From there, we’re rebuilding it the right way, installing new materials and bringing everything back flush and level with the existing floor throughout the shop.
This is exactly why “It’s in the Cut” isn’t just a slogan—it’s our commitment to paying attention to the details, addressing problems at their source, and doing the job correctly from the ground up.
