Randy is one of those people who brings experience, dependability, and a strong work ethic to the table every single day. He cares about doing things the right way, taking care of our customers, and helping the people around him succeed.

Neighbor Tip: Check Who Actually Holds a Contractor's License

Many Florida homeowners know to ask if a contractor is licensed.

Fewer know to ask who actually holds that license.

Before hiring a plumber, roofer, electrician, HVAC contractor, or remodeler, take a few minutes to verify:

• The license is active
• The qualifying agent's name
• Their relationship to the company
• Any disciplinary history
• Whether permits will be pulled under that license

Florida makes it easy to search licenses online:

One thing many homeowners don't realize is that the person who owns or advertises the company is not always the person whose license is being used.

That doesn't automatically mean anything is wrong, but it is worth understanding who is legally responsible for the work performed at your home.

Questions I would ask:

1. Who is the qualifying agent for your company?

2. Are they an owner, officer, or employee?

3. Will permits be pulled under that license?

4. How involved are they in supervising the work?

A reputable contractor should be happy to answer these questions.

A few minutes of research today can help prevent headaches tomorrow. Florida homeowners should always verify before they hire.
