Happy Halloween from the historic Monroe County Jail. Built in 1910, the building is being renovated and will eventually be opened as a museum. The Contractor working on it has decided that the building is most definitely haunted. He's had several paranormal experiences in it, and will no longer go up the second floor by himself. Well, it is kinda spooky.

Work is wrapping up on the 1898 Waterworks Building in St. Augustine. The building was originally constructed by Henry Flagler in 1898 as the first waterworks for the growing city. It was converted to a theater in the 1920s in one of the city's first adaptive reuse projects. The building will become a community center and theater.

Reroofing work has begun on the 1910 Monroe County Historic Jail, located next to the Courthouse on Whitehead Street. Few people know where this building is, as it's hidden behind its prison wall and the five story Jefferson Browne Courthouse. The building still has its original jail cells, and will eventually be restored and opened as a museum.

Repair work has begun on the 1903 Key West Armory on White Street. The damage, caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017, is being repaired with a grant from the National Park Service. During the storm, several windows were broken in the cupola and water poured in, damaging the wood ceilings and walls. Repairs include window glass and sash repair, patching and repainting of the damaged interior wood walls, and installation of new hurricane shutters at all of the windows.
