🐜 PEST PRO HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY! 🐜

We woke up this morning to a text about Mr. David, and let us tell you, we LOVE getting good feedback about our guys! ❤️

There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding German roaches, and we understand that dealing with an infestation can be a very sensitive and sometimes an embarrassing topic for homeowners. The truth is, German roaches do not automatically mean a home is dirty or that someone is doing something wrong. In fact, the home we are highlighting today actually got German roaches from someone else who unknowingly brought them into the home.

Over time, the situation escalated into a full blown infestation. Sometimes, infestations can seem to happen overnight. German roaches reproduce quickly, and what may start as a seemingly small problem can turn into something much more serious before you even realize what is happening.

That is why getting the right treatment is so important. It is not simply about spraying and killing the roaches you see. Effective German roach control means addressing the infestation in a way that targets the entire life cycle of the roach, helping to prevent the problem from continuing to reproduce and spread.

At DPP, we are extremely thorough when it comes to our German Roach Clean Outs. Preparation and aftercare are just as important as the treatment itself. We take the time to explain what needs to be done before treatment, what to expect during the process, and what steps need to be followed afterward to give the treatment the best opportunity to work.

This is something we cannot stress enough, pest control is NOT one size fits all. Not every infestation is the same, and not every home or environment is the same. That is why our approach is specialized to the individual situation and the specific home we are treating.
Most importantly, we approach every situation with grace, respect, and absolutely NO judgment. Our job is to help you, not make you feel bad about the problem you are dealing with. We go in, assess the situation, develop a plan, and get to work. 💪🏼

Something we have learned very quickly about David is that this man is THOROUGH. 😂 He takes his time, he pays attention to the details, and he takes tremendous pride in doing the job right. It truly shows.

A little transparency from DPP 🧡💙

Since starting Dakota’s Pest Pros, we recently received our first one-star review. I’ll be honest, we didn’t love seeing it. We care deeply about the work we do, the people we serve, and the reputation we are building because at the end of the day, this isn’t just a business. It’s our family, our livelihood, and quite literally, Dakota’s name. 😂
We won’t go into the details of that particular review because we’ve already responded publicly, but we do believe there is something valuable that comes from honest feedback, even when it’s difficult to hear.
And honestly, while Google is certainly helpful when someone searches for something like “pest control near me,” we don’t spend a tremendous amount of time worrying about Google itself. There is A LOT that goes into being “top-tier” on Google, from algorithms to reviews and all the hoops businesses have to jump through. 😂 Don’t even get me started on that rampage!

The truth is, we haven’t had to rely heavily on traditional marketing because you have been our marketing. Word of mouth has been everything to us. DPP has grown organically because our customers have trusted us enough to tell their friends, family and neighbors about us, and we will never take that for granted.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned as business owners is that we cannot please everyone. What we can do is set clear expectations, communicate openly, listen to our customers, respect their opinions and concerns, and always be willing to make things right when we can.

This is especially important with lawn and ornamental services. We truly view it as a partnership between DPP and the homeowner. We service our lawn accounts once a month, but so much happens between those visits. Even at our own home, Dakota is constantly working on our lawn, whether he’s mowing, edging, w**d eating, blowing, picking up debris, fertilizing, or treating for w**ds, insects and fungus. A healthy lawn is an ongoing process, and it takes effort from both sides.
We also want our customers to know that when something goes wrong, we want to know about it. We offer unlimited free trouble calls because we would much rather you call, text or reach out to us when you see a concern than sit with a problem. In Florida, things can change incredibly quickly. Fungus, drought stress, chinch bugs, sod webworms, armyworms and so many other issues can develop or escalate seemingly overnight.

We understand that every homeowner has different goals, expectations, schedules and circumstances. That’s why communication matters so much. regardless of how big DPP becomes, or whether we stay exactly where we are, we will always stay true to who we are. Our business has always been built around quality service over profit. We aren’t here to take advantage of people, get rich overnight or make a quick buck. We’re here to build relationships.
We want to be welcomed into your homes. We want to sit on your couch and talk about life. We want to know about your family, celebrate your highs, hear about your lows and, yes, we absolutely want to taste the yummy baked goods you leave out for us. 😂
Because there is so much more to this business than pest control.

There are relationships. There is trust. There are conversations, friendships, community and the people we get the privilege of meeting along the way. That is what makes this business special to us.

So, to our customers, supporters, friends and everyone who has helped make DPP what it is today, thank you. Thank you for trusting us, supporting a small family-owned business, giving us feedback and allowing us to continue learning and growing.

And to the business owners reading this, remember that not every day is rainbows and unicorns. 😂 Sometimes the hard days are simply part of the course. As Dakota reminds me often, it’s part of being a business owner.
We may not get everything perfect, and we may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we will always care, we will always listen, and we will always strive to do right by the people who trust us.

Big Updates at DPP! 🎉🐜🌱

We have some exciting updates happening here at Dakota’s Pest Pros, and we couldn’t be more excited to share them with you! 🧡💙

We have welcome Mr. David Larson to the DPP team! 🎉 David brings over 20 years of experience in the pest control industry, and we are so excited to have him on board!

With our continued growth, David will be taking over all of our pest control stops, while Dakota and Chris will continue handling our lawn services. This means that if you have multiple services with DPP, you may start seeing us at your property more frequently! 🏡🐜🌱

We are also implementing a new notification system through our pest control software! Going forward, you will not only continue receiving reminders and updates from our office phone, but you will also receive notifications directly through our pest control software. You can even respond directly to those software messages! 📲

Now, while I’m learning and getting everything fully implemented, you may hear from me a few different ways or even receive multiple notifications. 😂 So please bear with me while I get the hang of everything! Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated! ❤️

All of these changes are part of our continued growth and our commitment to providing you with an even better customer experience. Our goal is to improve communication, make scheduling and service notifications easier, and ultimately provide the level of customer satisfaction you deserve.

Please join us in welcoming our newest Pest Pro, David Larson, to the DPP family! 🧡💙

David is joining us as a full-time Pest Pro and brings with him 20+ years of experience in the pest control industry. That kind of knowledge and experience is incredibly valuable, and we are so excited to have him on our team!
DPP is growing, and we truly can’t say thank you enough for YOU being a part of that growth. Every customer who chooses us, recommends us to a friend, leaves us a review, or simply trusts us to take care of their home means more to our family-owned business than you know. ❤️

David will be doing a little bit of everything here at DPP, but his primary role will be running a pest control route and taking care of our customers. We know that putting someone new in front of our customers is a BIG deal, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We are confident that David will treat our customers with the same care, respect, and attention that we have worked so hard to build DPP around.
Outside of pest control, David is a family man who enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf — and from what we hear, he’s pretty darn good at it too! ⛳️😉

17 months ago, Dakota's Pest Pros was just a dream. Today, we are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude for every single person who has supported us along the way.

To our incredible customers, followers, friends, family, and community—THANK YOU. Your trust, referrals, encouragement, and support have helped us build something truly special.

We've welcomed so many new customers, met so many amazing people, and recently gained a lot of new Facebook followers. To each and every one of you, we are beyond grateful. What started as a small family business has grown into something much bigger than we ever imagined, and it's because of YOU.

We have some exciting announcements coming in just a few short weeks, and we can't wait to share what's next for DPP!

A fun little video of some work being done on a Saturday!!!

Some days in business make you proud.

Other days remind you exactly why God called you to do it in the first place.

Yesterday was one of those days.
I was out in the field at one of our new customer starts, sitting down with the homeowners to go over paperwork and billing. Before they signed, they looked at me and asked a question that caught me off guard.

“Why choose DPP? What makes your company different from everyone else?"

I had to pause.

Not because I didn't know the answer... but because I suddenly realized the answer was happening right in front of me.

The appointment should have taken maybe 20 minutes.
Instead, I sat in their home for over an hour.

Not because there was a problem. Not because there was more paperwork. But because they wanted someone to talk to, and I wanted to listen.

They are both 95 years old. Think about that for a moment. Ninety-five years of life. Ninety-five years of love, loss, joy, heartbreak, victories, failures, faith, and memories. They're still living independently, still driving, and still embracing each day with a smile.

Today, I expected to do most of the talking.

Instead, I listened.

We talked about life. We talked about growing older. We talked about how every single one of us enters this world the same way, and one day we'll all leave it. We talked about what it looks like to begin preparing for that season of life, and the peace that can come from knowing you've lived a full one.

There was something so incredibly humbling about sitting across from people who have lived through nearly a century of history and simply hearing their hearts.

Before I left, they smiled and said, "You should come back sometime just to visit while the guys do the hard stuff."

I don't know if they'll ever realize what that invitation meant to me.

I've been told most of my life that I have a way of making people feel comfortable enough to open up. For a long time, I didn't think much of that. But yesterday , I realized what a gift that truly is.

Recently, I heard a sermon that said to slow down and pay attention to God's little moments. Sometimes He speaks loudly, and sometimes He whispers so softly that if we're rushing through life, we'll miss Him completely.

Yesterday was a whisper.
And I'm so thankful I didn't miss it.

Yes, Dakota's Pest Pros exists to provide for our family. It helps us pay bills, support our employees, and build something we're proud of.
But if that's all this business ever was, it would never be enough.

This... this is why we do it.

The conversations.

The relationships.

The prayers shared around kitchen tables.

The laughter.

The tears.

The privilege of being welcomed into someone's home and, even if just for a little while, becoming part of their story.

Pest control may be what brings us to your front door.
But people are what keep us coming back.

Thank you to every single person who has trusted Dakota's Pest Pros with your home.

Thank you for inviting us into your lives, your stories, and your families.

Because somewhere along the way, you stopped being customers.

👏 A Big DPP Welcome to Kelly Fraser! 🧡💙

We are so excited to welcome Kelly Fraser to the Dakota’s Pest Pros family as our new Administrative Assistant!

Kelly brings years of administrative experience with a background spanning office management, bookkeeping, secretarial support, accounting, finance, and sales. She also has a heart for serving others. As a single, foster, and adoptive mother, the dedication, resilience, compassion, and care she brings to everything she does is truly inspiring.

As DPP continues to grow, we know the people behind the scenes are just as important as those in the field. Kelly will help support our administrative operations through organization, company systems, documentation, project coordination, and marketing support. She also brings her creativity through graphic design and has a talent for taking ideas and turning them into reality.

One of the things we are most excited about is having someone who can help bring structure to the ideas and visions we have for DPP. She has a unique ability to take what's in our heads and transform it into organized systems, polished documents, and creative projects that help move DPP forward.

Building a company from the ground up takes a team of people who believe in the mission, and we are grateful to have Kelly be part of that journey.

Callan Acker – Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Donna Acker – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Many of you know me (Callan) because I'm the one making the posts, answering messages, and interacting with our customers. As COO, my role is centered around overseeing day-to-day operations, customer relations, sales, contracts, marketing, and making sure everything runs smoothly on the front end.

But we don't talk nearly enough about Donna.
As our CFO, Donna is the one making sure everything behind the scenes is where it needs to be. She oversees the financial side of the business, budgets, reporting, compliance, and the countless details that keep DPP operating efficiently. While my role is what many of you see, her role is what makes it all possible behind the scenes.

Donna is also so much more than our CFO. She's the wife of one owner, the mother of another, and without a doubt our biggest supporter. No one believes in this company more than she does. From celebrating every milestone to encouraging us through every challenge, she's been a constant source of wisdom, support, and motivation since day one.
Every successful business needs people working behind the scenes just as much as those on the front lines. We're grateful to have both.
