The garage door industry is one of the fastest-growing home service industries in the country. Unfortunately, with that rapid growth has come an increase in deceptive and fraudulent business practices.
Across the United States, scammers are creating businesses that closely resemble legitimate garage door companies. They use names, logos, colors, and branding that look nearly identical to well-known companies, making it difficult for homeowners to know who they're actually hiring.
In many cases, homeowners believe they have contacted a reputable local business, only to have someone arrive in an unmarked vehicle or without proper company identification. These individuals may pressure customers into unnecessary repairs, claim parts are unsafe when they aren't, or charge thousands of dollars for work that should cost only a fraction of that amount. Sadly, elderly homeowners are often the primary targets because they are more likely to trust someone who appears professional.
The damage doesn't stop there.
After realizing they've been overcharged or received poor workmanship, customers often contact the legitimate company whose name or branding they believed they hired. This creates confusion, frustration, and can unfairly damage the reputation of honest businesses that had absolutely nothing to do with the service call.
We want to make something very clear:
To our knowledge, this has NOT happened to Graszer Garage Door. This announcement is simply a proactive effort to educate our community before it becomes a problem. We believe that informed homeowners are less likely to become victims.
Here are a few ways to protect yourself:
✔️ Verify the company you're hiring by checking reviews and confirming their contact information.
✔️ Ask for the technician's name before they arrive.
✔️ Be cautious if someone shows up in an unmarked vehicle or cannot clearly identify the company they represent.
✔️ Never feel pressured into making an immediate repair decision. If you're unsure, get a second opinion.
✔️ Ask for a written estimate before any work begins.
✔️ Be cautious of anyone demanding full payment upfront or refusing to provide an itemized invoice.
✔️ If the price seems unusually high or the recommendations don't make sense, don't hesitate to contact another reputable local company for a second opinion.

If Frank is not the technician arriving at your home, or Melissa is not the person answering the phone, you are NOT dealing with Graszer Garage Door. We do not subcontract our work to unknown technicians, and we believe our customers should always know exactly who is coming to their home.
Our goal is not to criticize any business. Our goal is to protect homeowners, especially our senior citizens, from deceptive practices and to encourage everyone to verify who they are inviting onto their property.
