NC Volunteer Help
To Whom A May Concern,
We are looking provide help to the residents of NC Affected by hurricane Helene in the following areas:
⁃ Burnsville
⁃ Boone
⁃ Asheville
⁃ & few smaller remote towns in the surrounding area
We are partnering with Roy’s General Store in Traverse City to provide Chainsaws, Fuel, & Bar Oil to help with clean up & rescue operations. Roy’s will be providing us at cost discounts on 20 chainsaws, 40 cases of per mixed 50:1 fuel, & 60 gallons of bar oil, they will also be giving us extra chains & sharpening tools for “FREE” as part of their donation efforts towards to relief help.
Total Cost For Chainsaw Package Is $12,731 From Roy’s General Store In Traverse City.
We are looking for help with covering cost of chainsaws, fuel, & bar oil, aswell as travel expenses to haul equipment down aswell for help with clean up relief efforts. We Are currently awaiting a call back from “Samaritan’s Purse” contact “Matt Reed” to find out where we can be the most useful with our equipment.
We Will Be filling a 18’ enclosed trailer with basic need supplies to drop off at various drop points in NC areas mentioned above. “Let’s Fill The Trailer!”
Basic need item for donation include the follow:
⁃ Baby Wipes
⁃ Diapers/Pull-Ups
⁃ Bottled Water
⁃ Dog/Cat Food
⁃ Shampoo & Soaps
⁃ Tooth Brush & Tooth Paste
⁃ 5 Gallon Gas Cans With Gasoline
⁃ Generators/Power Banks (All Sizes)
Drop Off Location Located At Our Home (Address: 3424 Starlight Trl Kingsley MI 49649)
We are planning to leave Friday evening (Oct. 11th, 2024) to head down with our load of chainsaws and what ever supplies we have collected at that time. We will be planning a second trip back down the following Friday (Oct. 18th, 2024) with anymore collected supplies and plan to stay to assist in the recovery efforts for as many days as we can. If you would like to be involved with the volunteer efforts please reach out the Justin Cecil @ 231-409-4192 Ext. 5 to coordinate rides & Sleeping arrangements. (We will be sleeping in our vehicles or enclosed trailer as to not hinder the relief efforts for local families in need of housing. Sleeping bags, pillows, & cots would be good to have on hand if you plan to assist with clean up efforts.
We have collected $1,100.00 so far from friends & family towards the relief efforts we anticipate needing a total of $15,500.00 to cover $12,731.00 for the chainsaw package & have a remaining $2,769.00 in travel & food expenses for our volunteer team to make the trip down this Friday Oct. 11th, 2024. The follow trip planned for Oct. 18th, 2024 will be in addition to this trip cost.
