Greetings Garden Geeks, Plant Nerds, and Botany Goths,

Peace Tree is delighted to offer Amorphophallus Konjac, the Voodoo Lily in multiple pot sizes for 2026! This bizarre, exotic, and intriguing plant is a close cousin of the famous Co**se Flower (Titan Arum), and in the same family as philodendrons, Jack-in-the-pulpit, skunk cabbage, alocasias and colocasias, and other favorites.

Konjac grows from large underground corms. Like the Co**se Flower they grow one giant parasol like leaf per year until they’ve stored up enough energy to produce the (in)famous flower (usually 3-4 years). Konjac emerges from the soil in the late spring like a mottled tentacled appendage of Cthulhu and expands to a wide tropical looking parasol shaped leaf.

Amazingly, Konjac is fully hardy in zone 7, and we’ve had it coming back in our own gardens here in zone 6 for 3 years running. Make sure to allow plenty of time for it emerge from dormancy, as sometimes it doesn’t pop up until June. It makes an excellent potted specimen plant too, and once the leaf dies back in the fall it can be stored in a cold dark place until spring. Each year the corm grows significantly, and with such force that it can easily crack an undersized pot. In Asia Konjac is also enjoyed as a delicacy but requires careful preparation to be made edible.

Environmental stewardship is a big goal at Peace Tree, this is why we harness the power of nature to deal with pests! Our beneficial bug problem is a complex system of maintaining a diverse population, and encouraging natural predators in efforts to reduce our environmental footprint. 🌱🐞
