Krush Development, based in Kissimmee, FL is advertising for a skilled position opening for HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS/CDL DRIVERS
This position is for Full-Time work and encompasses a scope of work on a project that is currently underway and is a permanent position. This position is an immediate start position on this project and FT with this company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operates multi excavation earthmoving equipment to construct, preserve and maintain trenching, excavations, SWPPP systems, Sub-grade Structural and Utility Systems and specs.
o Such equipment includes dozer, excavator, backhoe, grader, telehandler, front-end loader, tri-axle dump trucks, compaction rollers, knuckle boom, screen plant, skid steers, OTR truck hauler, OTR/Regional day-cab hauler, low-boy pneumatic equipment trailer, flatbeds, and more.
• Inspects equipment for safety issues daily as well as the condition of the work site prior to setting up equipment.
• Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
• Reads and understands signs, signals, load charts, grade stakes, load charts, excavation plans, operating manuals, and service procedures.
• Loads, hauls, and dumps materials operating an 18 yard and 25-yard articulating dump truck, and/or trailer, and transport equipment and machinery on semi-trailer to and from job site and its loading or off-loading.
• Measures and verifies levels of rock or gravel, bases, and other excavated material.
• Monitors gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly.
• Operates, inspects, cleans, and performs routine mechanical maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Moves materials over short distances, such as around a construction site, trench areas, ware-house or dry shelter, loading haul trucks with clean materials, spoils, processed materials, etc.
• This position may be required to perform general welding, fabricating, and modifying of materials and equipment.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5-10+ years of experience operating and transporting multiple pieces of heavy equipment including excavation and earthmoving equipment, large farm tractors, and dump truck.
• Valid Florida State License Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without restriction to operate vehicle equipped with a manual transmission, airbrake and tanker endorsements is required.
• If candidate does not currently possess a CDL, a CDL Learner's Permit is required at time of hire and the company will provide 3 months from date of hire to obtain a CDL.
• The company is willing to pay cost of CDL training program contingent on a reimbursement program authorization and a committed retention to work agreement.
• This position is subjected to random and mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
• Due to the Company’s response role and in the total scope of some emergency situations on some sites, or with our cooperators, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations locally, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
• The Primary field work with regular exposure to unpredictable weather conditions.
• Work environment may be hot and humid in remote and heavy vegetative areas with no facilities or a developed project site with facilities.
• Overtime will be required based on project needs, weather and/or environmental conditions.
• The candidate regularly sets up, adjusts, controls, tests and operates equipment to complete assignments.
• Moves or otherwise transports equipment weighing up to 50-100 pounds or more.
• Some manual labor may be required.
• This position normally involves daily travel from the employee's assigned station to work sites located within the company’s regional area of scope work.
• Some assignments require travel to remote locations and may require travel throughout the state of Florida.
• Hours are Monday – Friday (typically) 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
