Today we visited a customer who already had two water treatment companies out to their house, and both said they had no problems and the water was "good". While the softener was supplying soft water and doing its job, we detected tannin in the water. Tannins in water are naturally occurring compounds from decaying vegetation that can give water a yellow or brown, tea-like color, and a musty smell and taste. Tannin is not harmful, but it can still cause staining issues in plumbing fixtures. After adding some additional media, we cleared up their water, making for a happy customer.
