We specialize in residential roofing & gutters in The Greater Houston Area.
๐ฉโ๐ซ My background is in education. I was a high school geometry teacher for 10 years in the sunny state of Florida. โ๏ธ๐๐๏ธ
In 2016, I returned home to the ๐Great State of Texas๐ and stumbled into the roofing industry. I fell in love ๐ with guiding homeowners through the process of the largest home renovation most people make to their properties. ๐ก๐จ
As a single mom and school teacher, I always worked side hustles to help make ends meet. I provided bookkeeping services๐งพ, coached cheer ๐ฃ and dance ๐ฏโโ๏ธ teams along the way, and also sold health and beauty products via social media ๐ฒ .
Although life frequently felt like a struggle financially, it was imperative to me to have the same hours as my son, Logan, during his formative years through elementary school; so it was worth it in the end! ๐
Once my boy started middle school, I entered the roofing industry. I immediately saw how โจGodโจ had used my struggles over the years to sharpen my skills in preparation for this next phase of my life and career.
๐งพ Keeping up with QuickBooks throughout my teaching career opened the door for me to ultimately become a bookkeeper for a roofing company. I have my mother, Barbara Parmlee, to thank for teaching me the profession of accounting over the years that allowed me seize the opportunity. ๐๐ผ๐โจ
๐ป All of the hours I spent learning and utilizing Microsoft Office to educate my students helped to catapult the roofing business - by allowing me to create professional documents in Word, to build calculators in Excel, and to design PowerPoints I used to train salesmen. I have my perfectionism to thank for that ๐
โ๏ธ I used to refuse to give my students ugly worksheets - that had been duplicated so many times they were difficult to read ๐. Iโd retype them and incorporate studentsโ names into the word problems to help draw them into the lessons. In doing so, I learned the details and breadth of Wordโs capabilities.
๐ And I absolutely LOVED creating animated, color-coded, aesthetically appealing PowerPoints to engage students and to clarify each step, as we navigated complex math problems.
๐ฒ Selling health and beauty products taught me how to market on social media. For this, I have April Young to thank for teaching me the way. ๐๐ผ๐โจ
๐จ In 2018, I started Pink Constructionโฆand then added the dba โPink Roofing & Restorationโ in 2022 - to highlight roofing as our specialty.
