Another new panel and another green tag! This home is being remodeled so we updated the panel, ran additional circuits, and replaced every plug and switch in the house bringing everything up to code before going back on the market.

Another successful panel changeout. A home inspector found this Federal Pacific panel to be unsafe and recommended replacement. Studies have shown these FPE panels to be a fire hazard because of non-tripping breakers. You can see where this panel already smoked one breaker and had a different style breaker unsafely crammed in. If you have a Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) panel, call me.

Before and after from today’s panel upgrade. The old fuse panel was a mess. Unused wires cluttering the space, hvac tapped straight into bus bars, and NO ground rod! I’m happy I was given the opportunity to remedy this potentially dangerous setup.

I love working with realtors on their post-inspection punch list items. One of the most common things listed is neutral wires being joined together. This is why that is a problem. Neutral wires can go through the same heat and cool cycles, expanding and contracting, as the “hot” wire. Two wires under the same screw expanding at different rates will cause both wires to become loose, resulting in a poor connection and possible arcing. I can fix that! The other common item is not having GFCI protected outlets in all the required locations. I can fix that! Call me!
