This was a transformation!

This flower bed wrapped around the backyard pool area and was absolutely loaded with nearly four dozen Redbud saplings, Virginia creeper everywhere, and a thick blanket of leaves.

I pushed the bed edge back to reveal the full patio, cleared out the unwanted growth, and pruned everything to the client’s specifications. The difference was incredible, and the space feels open and intentional again.

Days like this are a reminder of how much potential can be hiding beneath the overgrowth. Next will be mulch! This one was a good one!

Today had a little bit of everything — weeds, vines, petrified wood, pieces of metal, and even toys! 😅

I cleaned up two front yard beds, trimmed back some beastly overgrown shrubs, did a little edging, and then headed to the backyard to prune up a Laceleaf Maple and clear out the weeds around it.

I also stumbled across a nest of eggs, so I had to be extra mindful while working. And of course, I had a little friend keeping an eye on me from the window the whole time. 👀🐾

This was a great job, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to help make a property look its best. 💚🌿

Let’s talk about our least favorite grasses 👀

I’ll go first… Bermuda grass!!

This backyard bed was loaded with it. Pulled out as much as possible, rhizomes and all, plus cleaned up the weeds along the way. We’ll be doing more work to this bed in the fall, and in the meantime the homeowner will be spraying anything that decides to pop back up.

If you know, you know… Bermuda grass does not give up easily 😂

Today I tackled an overgrown front yard beast of a flower bed! This one had everything—weeds, suckers, volunteer trees, and vines taking over. I removed a Sweetgum volunteer tree, smaller unwanted trees, cleaned up inside and raised the Crepe Myrtle, removed a large Holly, and dug out an invasive Spiderwort by the roots after it had taken over nearly half the bed. Finished it all off with a cleanup and fresh mulch. Huge transformation on this one!

Removed two gnarly apple trees today! One was completely alive but planted in the worst spot possible, hanging over the clients pergola, and the other was completely dead. I’m pretty sure I picked up over 300 apples by the time it was all said and done! Oh the joys of fruit trees! 🍏

Only had two hours to spare for this last-minute job, but the client really needed it done, so I went full Tasmanian Devil mode! 😅 This brush was packed with Kudzu, giant pokeweed, and just about every poisonous vine you could imagine. It was a tangled mess, but the goal was simple: clear the fence line and uncover the beautiful big tree trunk. Mission accomplished!

W**d Day THREE of this 6-day project! 🌿

We’re almost ready for the next phase. Three days of clearing weeds, leaves, vines, and volunteer plants from the beds is nearly complete, and it’s exciting to see the longest part behind me. Looking forward to what’s next!
