Today was definitely a ROCK day! I moved around 1,000 rocks and still have plenty more to go!

This area used to be a 3-tier bed, but my client is completely redoing her landscape beds and starting from scratch. It’s always exciting to see a space get a fresh start and watch the transformation come together!

I also got very friendly with the house centipedes today and even had an unexpected run-in with a hornets’ nest. Needless to say, there was never a dull moment!

All in all… a good day!

This morning was a blast! 🌿

I planted 32 plants total between grasses and small shrubs! If you remember a few months back, I completely cleared this bed, put down contractor paper and fabric, and finished it off with fresh mulch. Well, today I got to come back and bring the vision to life!

This time around, I wanted to be more mindful than the last guy of what would make the most sense for this particular bed and how everything will grow and fill in over time.

Today’s lineup included:
🌸 Pink Muhly Grass
🌱 Variegated Sedge
🌿 Gold Mound Japanese Spirea
🌱 Big Blue Liriope
🌲 Tater Tot Arborvitae
And one mystery plant because I had never heard of it before and somehow misplaced the tag!

Thankfully, I know its mature size and form are just right for the space, so we’ll see what it turns out to be! 😅

I can’t wait to come back in the spring and add some annuals to really finish this bed off and bring even more color!

I love getting to see a space go from overgrown and neglected to something beautiful, intentional, and ready to grow.

Being able to sponsor my son’s Little League baseball team is such a blessing and a proud experience for me.

Any opportunity I get to be a part of something special, support these kids, and give back to our community, I’m going to take it. Watching them grow, learn, and make memories together is something I’m truly grateful to be a part of.

A lot more gnarly than it looks and it was SOAKING wet.
We all know how that goes when we’re trying to work with our tools in a wet environment. Definitely made this one a little more challenging!

But we got it down enough for the homeowner to safely take action on the next step.

🌸 #3 — Chinese Fringe Flower ‘Jazz Hands Pink’
🌿 #4 — Dappled Willow

Planting in this heat is definitely hard work, but with plenty of water, some TLC, and time to get established, these plants are going to grow into some gorgeous additions to the landscape!

Fun little miscellaneous job today! 🌿

I transplanted a Hosta from the ground into a pot, raised a Japanese Maple, and cleared out a small w**d bed.

Nothing huge or complicated—just a few simple projects that needed some attention. But honestly, these little jobs bring me just as much joy.

Today was a BIG bed-cleaning day!

I cleared out all the w**ds and vines, removed quite a few volunteer plants, and tackled about 12 Yuccas that had taken over! I also cleaned up the shrubs by removing deadwood and raising some of the smaller limbs.

I found a whole bunch of hidden lawn ornaments and garden décor tucked away in the overgrowth! Once everything was cleared out, I placed them where I thought they’d look best.

A bunch of pruning today! 🌿✂️

I didn’t remember to take my after photos, but I did get to see actual grapes growing on the Grapevine and hazelnuts on the Hazelnut bushes!

I can honestly say I’ve never seen a Hazelnut shrub before today. It was such a cool find! I love this job because there’s always something new to discover and something new to learn.

Another fun day on the job!
