Why is the technician trying to sell me new heat & cool equipment when it's only 8 years old?

A seasoned technician would approach this like, did you or your installing contractor register your new equipment in the first 60-90 days of installation? Oh look! it's registered, great! I can assist with warranty part replacement and get you back to comfortable ASAP.
