School is OUT!! βοΈ With your kiddos home and spending more time outside, here are a few simple things you can do to help keep rodents and snakes out of your yard:
1. Maintain your yard - One of the easiest ways to help prevent snakes and rodents is by keeping your grass mowed short, trimming shrubs around your home, and keeping your yard free of debris.
2. Watch those wood piles - We all know Texans love their bonfires, but so do mice and rats. Keeping wood piles too close to your home or garage can lead to infestations and health hazards. Try to stack firewood at least 18 inches off the ground and keep it at least 20 feet away from your foundation.
3. Keep trash bins sealed - Make sure your trash bins stay tightly closed and avoid storing them inside your garage whenever possible.
4. Seal gaps and openings - Check around the foundation of your home and garage for cracks or gaps. Snakes and rodents can squeeze through surprisingly small openings, so sealing them can make a big difference.
