Great post about how to budget for your project!
Let’s talk budgets. Don’t let the money talk scare you when starting a home project! Here are some tips:
1) Set a budget. You need to know the maximum you are willing to spend. This will determine the scale of your project and what’s included.
2) Get quotes. If the quote comes back a lot higher, then phase the project. We help our clients figure out how to phase their projects to work with their budget.
3) Have an extra 30% saved for the project. Things come up in construction, and it’s always nice to not have to scramble to figure it out.
4) Wait for what you want. Don’t go cheap just to get the project done. If you are investing a large amount of money in your home, make it worth it!
