La Junta Residents, Time is running out. You have less than two weeks to report your hail damage from last year's May hail storm.
On May 29, 2021 a damaging hail storm with Quarter size hail went through a small section of La Junta damaging many homes and vehicles. This storm did not affect the entire city but if your home is located between 10th street and 1st there is a good chance that you have damage.
If your roof was damaged by this storm your Insurance company may allow as little as ONE YEAR to report this claim. If you fail to report your damage within the policy terms you will be left out in the cold and your claim will be denied if you file a claim after this period. If your roof had minor damage after the 2017 hail storm and you didn't replace it, chances are very good that your roof is in poor to fair condition. Don't assume that your roof is in good shape because it looks good from the street.
