Our Destination Trailer at Prairie du Chien needed a little refreshing to the kitchen and bath. So this was our weekend. I built the vanity at home last week from scratch, because it’s wall-to-wall, and there is a 12 volt converter mounted on the floor underneath. As ususl Desi Wildeboer McLaughlin was in charge of selecting the color scheme and handling the painting. We used a laminate refinishing kit from Menards on the kitchen counter- i was impressed!! Desi stayed ahead of me with a paintbrush as I bounced from one room to the other. There are a few more things to wrap up. (Came up a little short on the faux tile above the vanity; need to select some new black hardware in the kitchen) But all-in-all, a weekend that even Chip and Joanna would have to agree ranks right up there!

My son and his wife live in Ft Worth. Their bathroom was in need of an update. So I took Checked Off on the road this week. Didnt pay very well…but great to spend time with family!

Handyman projects happen at home too…Checked off a new Larson storm door with built-in doggie door. No more jumping up and down every time Tucker or Sophie want in or out!

Deck Railing, steps and a clever concealment area for garbage cans “Checked Off” over the past couple days. When Zach and Jacey DePriest moved in next door to us, the house had a newly built deck, but no rails or steps. Working with Zach, we put on this sharp new railing, built steps and matched the cedar on the front of the house for a “built-in” area to keep the garbage cans from being visible from the street. Kudos to Jacey for her finishing work on the cedar and to Desi Wildeboer McLaughlin for her help in cleaning things up after sundown last night. All turned out great!

Three items “Checked Off” Sam Phillips’ list today! The 8” x 8” Solid wood mantle was a challenge, but turned out great! Also repurposed an odd-shaped plywood piece into some linen closet shelves and got creative with some Hobby Lobby floating shelves cut down and installed in a bathroom alcove.
