Summer has a way of keeping us busy, and it's easy to overlook the little things around the house. But as August winds down, it's a good time to make sure your home's essential systems are ready for the season ahead.

A dripping faucet, an outlet that's not working quite right, or an HVAC system that's overdue for maintenance may not seem urgent today—but addressing small issues now can help prevent bigger inconveniences later.

Whether you need plumbing, electrical, or heating service, our team is here to help homeowners throughout Olympia, Tacoma, Lacey, Tumwater, and South Bend. We're committed to keeping your home comfortable, efficient, and ready for whatever the next season brings.

The power goes out here for reasons everybody in Washington already knows. Wind, water, and trees — and that season starts sooner than the calendar suggests.

A standby generator starts on its own when the power drops, keeps your refrigerator, well pump, heat, and lights running, and shuts itself off when utility power returns. You do not have to be home for any of it.

Our team handles the sizing, the permitting, and the installation, safely and correctly. Call to get started.

Three sounds worth paying attention to before summer ends:
Squealing usually means the fan belt is old and needs replacing. Hissing can be caused by a leaking compressor. A rattle at startup often points to loose hardware or a motor mount on its way out.

None of these resolve on their own, and every one of them costs more to fix the longer it runs. At the first sign of an issue, call our team. We'll diagnose and repair it quickly, and get your system back up and running as soon as possible.

The driveway gets busy again this month. Practices, pickups, and a commute that goes back on a real schedule.

A properly installed Level 2 EV charger means you leave every morning with a full battery and one less stop on the way. Charging at home is also the least expensive way to charge, which adds up considerably over the years you own the vehicle.

Our electricians will confirm your panel can carry the load, handle the permitting, and install it safely and correctly. Call or click to get started.

Your heat pump has been running since June without a single day off. In a few weeks it will turn around and start heating your home for the next six months.

Annual maintenance is what catches the small things while they are still small — a dirty coil, a weak capacitor, airflow that has quietly dropped off. It also protects the money you put into the system in the first place and helps it reach a long and successful service life.

Remember, it is important that you schedule maintenance at least once a year. Contact our team today and we'll get you on the calendar!

August gives us some of the longest, brightest days of the year in Western Washington. Every one of those hours is energy landing on your roof whether you use it or not.

Solar panel installation reduces the amount of energy that you have to buy from your utility. That is the plainest way to say it. The sun is already hitting your home — solar simply puts it to work.

Our team will look at your roof, review how much power your household actually uses, and show you what a system returns over its service life. No pressure, and no assumptions.

Call or click to get started.

The warmest afternoons of the year usually land in August. When the sun is sitting on the west side of the house and nobody wants to move off the couch, you want a system that keeps up without anyone having to think about it.

A properly sized heat pump does exactly that — year-round comfort with just the flip of a switch. It cools your home in August and heats it in December, and it is the same piece of equipment doing both.

If your system is struggling to hold a temperature this month, that is worth a look before it turns around and starts heating. Fortunately for you, we are that team. All you need to do is call or click to get started!

Low water pressure can have several causes: a partially closed shut-off valve, a pressure regulator that's failing, buildup inside supply lines, or a leak somewhere in the system. Some are simple fixes. Others point to issues that get worse and more expensive the longer they go unaddressed. Sunset Air's Residential Plumbing Division handles water pressure diagnosis and repair for homeowners across the South Puget Sound. Our licensed plumbers take the time to assess what's actually causing the problem, explain your options, and complete the work with care so you get lasting results without surprises. Home plumbing improvements, replacements, and everyday repairs — that's our focus. Done right, the first time.
