šŸ” FROM NEGLECTED TO NORTHWOODS-READY! šŸŒ²

This seasonal cabin had been left without the attention it needed for far too long, and the exterior was definitely showing it.

But what a difference some proper prep, protection, and a fresh new look can make!

We gave this cabin a much-needed exterior makeover using Hirshfieldā€™s House Coat in the colors Nearly Brown and Rockwood. The new combination completely transformed the appearance while, more importantly, helping protect the exterior and extend the life of the cabin for years to come.

For a cabin, appearances matter because you want to be able to relax when you are there. And even when the building itself is not huge, hiring professionals for the exterior maintenance can allow owners to just enjoy their time away from their main home.

Now, instead of being an eyesore, this cabin looks like it belongs in its beautiful Northwoods surroundings again. ā¤ļøšŸŒ²

CHIMNEYS MATTER TOO!

When we stain log homes, one area we frequently find in the worst condition is the chimney, and unfortunately, itā€™s also one of the areas that often receives the least attention.

Why? Because itā€™s high. Itā€™s difficult to reach. And portions of it canā€™t easily be seen from the ground.

We can't tell you how many times we've discovered that the last time a home was stained, the easy-to-reach areas of the chimney were doneā€¦but the harder-to-reach logs that the homeowner couldn't notice were simply skipped. šŸ˜³

And that is a HUGE disservice to the homeowner as those logs are also some of the most prone for rot.

Those hard-to-reach areas are often some of the most exposed to sun, rain, snow and Wisconsin weather. They need protection just as much, if not more, than the rest of your home.

At Barefoot Painter, we aren't going to ignore part of your home simply because it's difficult to reach.

Thereā€™s just something about a beautifully maintained log home, especially tucked into the Northwoods!

This gorgeous home received a fresh coat of PPG ProLuxe Log & Siding stain in Butternut, bringing out those rich, warm wood tones while giving the logs the protection they need to stand up to our Wisconsin weather for years to come.

And can we talk about those green accents?! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ The doors were painted in Hunt Club using Hirshfieldā€™s House Coat, giving the home a beautiful contrast that fits perfectly with its wooded surroundings.

We LOVE partnering with our friends at Hirshfieldā€™s to provide our customers with quality products, expert support, and outstanding finished looks like this one!

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

This exterior went from weathered and tired to warm, rich, and refreshed, while still keeping all of the natural character that makes this home fit so beautifully into its wooded surroundings.

A fresh exterior stain brought the wood back to life, and the darker accents on the porch and deck add just the right amount of contrast. We especially love how the natural wood tones pop now compared to where this project started!

Exterior staining isn't just about changing the look, either. Properly maintaining stained wood helps protect it from the sun, moisture, and everything our Wisconsin weather throws at it.
