Hello my friends! I just wanted to request some help from y'all. If you give my number to one of your friends or family, please shoot me a text or give me a call and let me know. My newest business cards have "new clients please text" under the number. If i don't know the number, the following will explain what happens:
When I first started my business journey, I foolishly signed up for Angie's List. From then on, both my personal number and business number have been flocked with scam callers. A.L. will not remove my numbers from their website so from 7am to 7pm I'll get calls. Many of the calls are local numbers from Cameron, Lake Charles, Broussard, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Iberia, etc. I used to answer every one. Then I used to just ignore them. Eventually it became a little game to toy with them for a moment to waste their time. They'll say "Hello Bradley (i guess that's my number's old owner) how are you doing?" in the thickest accent with call center ringing and jabbering in the background. My normal response is "Bad, because you're calling me. *end call*" That's best case scenario. No telling how many clients I've missed out on in 3 years by simply not answering.
Tl,dr: If you gave my number to your mother because she needs an Electrician, I probably didn't answer her or I gave her my short, sweet remark and then hung up.
In closing, I want to work with y'all, your family and friends while extending my client list. Please do me that little favor and clue me in!
Thank you all very much for attending my Tedtalk!
