Memories of Mr. Bobby

One of our visits many years ago, our family was on the way back from a doctor’s appointment in Covington when we met Mr. Bobby at B*W for lunch.

During the meal the weather turned extremely bad — a major storm was approaching. Without hesitation, Mr. Bobby asked if we wanted to come stay at his home until the storm passed.

I hadn’t known him but for a few years at that point, yet that simple offer said everything about his character. He didn’t want us to risk getting hurt driving in the storm.

And like he always did at the end of every visit, he asked the same question:

“Is there anything I can do for you?”

That was Mr. Bobby.
