🏈 **Community Friday — Friday Night Lights!** 🍂

There's just something special about Friday nights in small-town Indiana.

The stadium lights shining across the field, the marching band playing in the stands, the cheerleaders getting the crowd fired up, and families bundled up on the bleachers cheering for their hometown teams. 🏈

It's more than just football.

It's students representing their schools, coaches and volunteers giving their time, proud parents in the stands, and entire communities coming together to support their kids.

Whether you're cheering for a team in Lafayette, West Lafayette, or one of our surrounding small towns, Friday night football is one of those fall traditions that brings generations together.

So here's to the players, coaches, marching bands, cheerleaders, volunteers, and everyone who makes those Friday nights under the lights something special!

**Good luck to all our local teams, and have a safe and wonderful weekend!** 🏈🍁

From all of us at M. P. Baker Electric. 💙⚡

⚡ BEHIND THE SCENES WEDNESDAY | When One Component Fails

Sometimes the smallest part of an electrical system can create a BIG problem.

Take a look at this photo. 👀

What you're seeing is the aftermath of a high-voltage electrical fault caused by a failed insulator.

Insulators have an important job: keeping electrical current where it belongs and preventing it from traveling to places it shouldn't.

In this particular situation, an insulator failed, allowing high voltage to arc to ground.

The result? A serious electrical incident that left some pretty dramatic evidence behind.

And here's the interesting part...

Something as seemingly simple as an insulator plays a critical role in the safety and reliability of an entire electrical system.

It's a reminder of why proper maintenance, inspections, and experienced electrical professionals are so important, particularly in industrial facilities where electrical systems can be complex and powerful.

At M. P. Baker Electric, we understand the importance of keeping electrical systems operating safely and reliably.

Because when it comes to electricity, the little things can have some pretty BIG consequences. ⚡

⚡ Tip Tuesday: Give Your Space Heater Some Space!

As cooler temperatures settle in, portable space heaters start making their way back into homes, offices, and workshops.

Before plugging one in, remember a few important safety tips:

🍂 Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from curtains, furniture, papers, and other combustible materials.

🍂 Always plug a space heater directly into a wall outlet—never an extension cord or power strip.

🍂 Place heaters on a stable, level surface and never leave them running unattended or while sleeping.

🍂 Inspect the cord and plug for damage before using a heater that's been stored away.

Space heaters can provide a little extra warmth when temperatures drop, but using them safely is just as important as staying comfortable!

A little prevention goes a long way toward keeping your home or workplace safe. ⚡
