Congratulations to Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists on the grand opening of its Orthopedic Urgent Care Clinic in Youngsville! AQ Studios was proud to celebrate this milestone alongside LOS and our project partners at Kent Design Build, Inc.

This new facility provides convenient access to specialized orthopedic care, on-site digital X-rays, fracture care, physical and occupational therapy, and expedited follow-up with orthopedic specialists. We’re grateful to have helped bring this valuable healthcare resource to Youngsville.

It was a great experience partnering with Northwestern State University and DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc. to bring Robert Alost Hall to life. Our Historic Renovation Studio Lead Heather Cooper was on hand last Thursday for another session in the AIA New Orleans Center for Architecture and Design Preservation in Practice series. The panel focused on how thoughtful design choices can reduce consumption, respect historic character, and enhance our built environment. Thank you to all the speakers for an insightful session!

Take a closer look at an award-winning interior. The AIA New Orleans Center for Architecture and Design Design Awards jury stated they appreciated the ambition of this project and recognized the challenge of creating a distinctive restaurant experience within an existing historic warehouse. They note the sculptural wood rotunda and entry sequence became the defining architectural moment of the project, creating memorable transitions while skillfully navigating changing grades.

This past Friday, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation voted to advance proposed changes to the regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Current Section 106 requirements have not yet changed, but proposed revisions could eventually affect due diligence, permitting, mitigation, financing and project schedules for developments involving historic properties and federal funding or approvals.
