is your pool not equipped with an auto-filler and you're always worried you'll forget about your hose and over-flow your pool? do you forget about your hose and over-flow your pool? do you find it annoying to remind someone to turn the hose off if you have to leave? do you hate waiting around for your hose to fill your pool?
i present to you the best and cheapest solution: the $12 water timer. find them in the garden section at home depot, lowe's, etc.
put it on your faucet, attach your hose to it, leave the faucet on 24/7, turn the dial to the amount of minutes you want it to run, and forget about it. once the time is up, it stops the flow of water. no more worries. need it to run constantly? click the dial counterclockwise. just don't forget to click it clockwise back to off 😉
do they make nicer ones? yes.
do i recommend them? no.
why?
nicer ones take batteries. batteries don't like water. this device stays attached to your hose and is outside in the sun. the batteries are likely to get wet and/ or overheat thus the device is bound to malfunction. i've been down that road before. the trusty ol' $12 ticking water timer is the best route to go.
fancier alternative: the auto-filler that attaches to a hose, sits on the ledge of your pool, and has a float activated switch in it. that is the CMP Aqua Level Portable Auto Leveler if you're interested. they're about $100. CMP part number 25604-000-000. i think amazon has them. google it 🤙🏼
